I was in the check-out lane at Best Buy and this little diskette in the racks happened to catch my eye. DOOM in big red letters stuck out. I picked it up and read graphic violence and, being the future serial killer that I am, added it to the stuff I was buying. Later that night I installed it and decided to give it a run around the block. You can imagine what a geek I was (still am :) ), computer set up in the back corner of the deserted tool shop, all the lights turned out, the only light coming from the monitor, headphones wrapped securely across the top of my head. I was in heaven battling the demons from Mars. I thought I had a freeking heartattack when, in the midst of a particular bloody battle, my cat jumped up on my lap. :D

IDDQD is for losers!!

Yeah, I loved Doom. Remember 5 years ago when playing Doom made those kids go crazy and kill 13 people in their high school? I hear it helped them practice their aim, too.

So anywhere I can get a copy of Doom that'll run on W2K? It's so old it should be free by now.

Both Doom95(the last true Doom built with Doom limitations) and newer OpenGL versions of Doom(jDoom comes to mind) should run on 2K.
