Good night, Canada!

They curl.
They bowl with five pins.
They put mayo on their french fries.
They have no "Zee" in their alphabet.
They have a time zone that's 1/2 hour off anyone else.

God bless our quirky neighbors to the north (and their tank).

We also have metric time and prime minister Putin. Just ask GW.

do y'all think we people to the south of ya don't put vinegar on our fries? I sure as hell don't, but I know people who like to. See it a lot at Cedar Point, a place where people from all over the U.S. come to visit. 😉

alas, happy birthday neighbors.
oh, and thank your british pals for stopping the U.S. from taking you last time. Maybe next time you won't be so lucky to be graced by the brits. 😀

Canada isn't 140, it's only 25. You're not truly a country until you're fully independent.

Just like people count their age from birth not conception.

We're celebrating the formation of the nation.

This reminds me of the excerpt from John Stewarts book America...

We waited, in the cold, watching the US, most of central and South America, Africa and Asia throw off their colonial oppressors. I think it was us and Belize that held out. And our Patience ultimately paid off, for in the glorious year of 1982, we took the bold step of getting permission from England to amend our constitution so we could amend our constitution--without getting permission from England... Now only the remnants of the tyrannical rule of Queen Elizabeth II are an appointed "Governor General" who represents her in Canadian governmental affairs. And the Queen is still officially our head of state. Plus shes on all our money. And when we take a government job, we have to swear a loyalty pledge to her. All in all, a small price to pay for an independence achieved without bloodshed, violence, glory, or independence.

Happy B-day Canada 😀
