Ass-laminator, my old nemisis...:laugh: I don't think I've posted here in probably 5 or more years. Don't even remember anymore why I moved on...😕

I've been spending more time on motorcycle forums and just dealing with life's many issues. Moved halfway across the country, bought a house, watched my retirement savings as a large chunk evaporated, you know, the usual stuff.

I've really cranked back on my crunching activities (and my herd). I have a couple of machines doing GIMPS work but that's it. Just doesn't get my blood flowing like in the old days. Oh well...

Good to see some familiar names still haunting these boards! I hope that everyone has a happy and successful 2009! :beer:

Lol, I see you must of been around when Darkone & TheOne used to be around as it was D1 who coined that name 😛.

None of the maths DC projects really interested me, up until end of 05 I did SETI classic almost exclusively, after that I mainly did DPAD on my main rig for a couple of years ,with SETI on my remote mini-fleet (what's left of it). Also more recently I've done some Folding@H, last months race + the yr before. Atm I'm doing DPAD on my CPU & F@H on my GPU. Their's many other projects I'd like to do too but I just don't have enough PCs 😉.

I guess you're too scared & decrepit to race these days then? 😉
Bloody spoonheads never did have any guts 😛

It is true, though, that my heart just isn't into racing anymore. :roll:

Great work Team and Happy Birthday...although belated.

After a few years of craziness in the real world, I need to try to get back into some crunching, I've been gone a long time.
 
I have absolutely no idea yet. As you can tell from my sig, I still haven't been on or updated anything enough since the little mini seti-challenge we had just over 3 years ago!

Without the lab computers from grad school I'm also down to a laptop and an older sempron desktop, so my options are a bit limited. I'd be open to any suggestions however if you have some thoughts on where to best add resources.
 
Hmm, well I don't know if its the best choice for you 😉, but my preferences atm are DPAD, F@H & SETI.

DPAD is for helping to design a new particle accelerator to expand our knowledge of particular sub atomic particles (mostly not covered by the LHC AFAIK). If you want a challenge then I'm no 8 in TA so it'd take you a fair while to catch me their 😉. Theirs only about a dozen of us who are active in this project.

F@H is helping research into various diseases via protein folding. I've got a fairly modest score in this project, so with the right rig (a dual at least) it wouldn't take you long to pass me here 😛, currently I'm only running it on my graphics card.

I think you've heard of SETI 😉, I've got an ok score in this one, mostly it's just my 2nd rig & remote fleet that crunches SETI these days, every now & then I put my quad on it.

Their are stacks of other good projects going on too these days, just a case of whether you have enough PCs 😉.

Btw my 2nd rig is a Sempron(64) 3100 @2.5 GHz, with the optimised SETI client (which uses SSE3 etc) it does WUs in 1-2hrs 🙂. Although only a few of the latter variants of S754 Semprons have SSE3 (Venice derived cores).

Wow!!! 10 years! Happy birthday TA!

I still remember my old RC5 and SETI@Home fleets from about 8 or 9 years ago! Before BOINC came along and I left the game!

Good to see there's so much worthwhile crunching going on!
