TigerDirect has the Hannspree 19" Digital LCD for $189.99
after $70 MIR through 1/31/06

+shipping with no tax in most states.

it has DVI and VGA inputs, 8ms response, never heard of it, but it is dirt cheap

Yeah, I saw this earlier. Unfortunately, it's also dirt ugly 🙂

It's ugly and it's from Tiger, but the price is still tempting me. Is anyone here familiar with Hannspree?

You don't like the look, and you dont' like Tiger ... but still considering it?

This is why Hot Deal forums can be bad us techies ... buying things just because the price is good.

"Is anyone here familiar with Hannspree?"

target has carried the apple shaped one for about a year at least

I got an email from Tiger this morning about this. It is a really good deal... $207 shipped after rebate. You can't find one with DVI inputs for that price. and an 8ms response time? Very nice specs. I would also like to know if anyone has seen this monitor in person.

Heck, I'd buy it. Ever since Tiger started their guaranteed rebates, I haven't had a problem with them.

ugh, you know that the 8ms isn't real. There are a million different tests and a billion ways to bend them. The samsung monitors are really good, but even they arn't all "8ms".

aren't response times suppose to be all standard? the time it takes to change from black to white and back to black again.

Right now - the standard is blurred (heh) - many use black to black and many cheat by using grey to grey. Some tell you the method, others don't. So - 8ms on a cheap monitor is likely grey to grey and the black to black is significantly slower.

dew.
