Doesn't look like it. They do not have a business presence in Cali so should be no sales tax. I am in Michigan and paid no tax.

I live in TX and they added tax.
I'm also in TX and they want $21 tax. 🙁

Even at $129 + $21 tax you are getting a 19" DVI LCD for $150. That does suck though. They must have a distribution center, outlet or something in Texas...

Anyone quide me how to adjust colors / brightness and contrast.

I went over to fatwallet and follow someones suggestion

Select Color Settings
Select User
Set to following:
R - 78
G - 64
B - 66

much better but is there a program to help calibrate?

I'm seriously considering this LCD. How's the viewing angle? How is the image quality and ghosting for gaming if it's scaled to 1024x768 resolution (24bit color)? I'm a bit concerned about the 6bit panel, how's the image quality (colors, sharpness, etc...) at native resolution?

Everything looks great at native resolution. I've played lots of FarCry on it with no evidence of ghosting. I haven't tried it at 10x7. The viewing angle is average, but I haven't run into any problems with it.

Got mine in this morning after ordering it on Wednesday shipped Ground. Amazing delivery time.

I haven't hooked it up yet. Maybe I'll get off work early and can go play with it.

I'll need some way to calibrate it. Any suggestions?

Barry

8-10 weeks! These rebates have gotten out of hand. I remember when they were a maximum of $50 for the same time period. When you buy something such as a computer with the $300 in rebate offers, 8-10 weeks is just too darn long. Companies such as Onrebate and the others can sit on the money for months and collect interest, assuming
they've already gotten the dough from the manufacturers.

That said, does anyone know the turnaround for the Paypal rebate (or was it already mentioned in this thread)? I just ordered this unit as my 8 year old Dell 1025tm 17" CRT couldn't seem to handle refresh rates anymore. The picture was still great, but every minute the screen and power would click off and on about 15x unless I booted to VGA mode.

I was looking for a good sale on the Viewsonic VX2025 but the best I've seen was $280 after a $100 rebate at J&R. I just couldn't wait anymore, and hopefully this will arrive in great working condition.

The Paypal rebate is still 8-10 weeks I believe unless you pay the $5.50 expedite fee. If you choose to expedite, they charge $5.50 and will apply the funds to your Paypal account within a few days after they receive all of your rebate info.

Edit: Just got this via email...

Pretty darn good considering I didn't drop them off at the Post Office until 4 days ago!

Before Staples went to Easy Rebates and started to supervise them very closely (Staples has gone to the top of the list in trustworthiness IMHO),
I also got a quick notification on a rebate from them, and waited and waited.
I think the rebate finally arrived 6 months later.

Does anyone know if Onrebate has always notified customers that their rebates are being processed on a prompt basis, and then proceeds to hold back on the rebates - or once they get notified it's written in stone that the rebate is coming?

I have no personal experience with onrebate (at least that I can remember) so I can't say. It seems that in general most rebates seem to take longer than they state in the rebate terms. I have had great luck with Dell, Radio Shack, Ace Hardware, Sears, Staples and a few others. The verdict is still out, at least for me, on onrebate. I will hope for the best, but so far it looks promising especially since they were very fast in approving my rebate.

hmmm...I dunno. -_- Anybody has experience with PC Connection...they seem TDish.

my boss orders from there all the time for the company. rarely have an issue.

I have it installed. I have a problem though. I have a band of green running top to bottom along the right edge of the screen. When I try to use the on screen display adjustments the "image" section is grayed out. Therefore I cannot adjust certain things.
<sigh> Oh, and it has at least one dead pixel.

It still beats my old HP A4033A 20"+ CRT.

got an email today... Look! the rebate expiration may have been extended to end of june. If the $90 one is extended i might get a relative in on one too. the $90 came in really fast 2 weeks ago using the onrebate submission and paypal option for a small charge of $5.50.

Ive been using Nokia Monitor Test for years for CRT calibration. It does color, contrast, brightness, moire, geometry, resoution, readability. etc. Not designed for LCDs but works nonetheless. Google it, its a free dl.

I've received two "full" (not discounted for quick payment to paypal) from onrebate in the last month or so - took about 8 weeks but no problems.

Looks to me they charge different amounts to different people for the fast pay option...some say 5.50, some 4.50 - can't say for sure, but my memory says they wanted 6.50 from me to fast pay on this $90 deal - I just opted to wait for a check.

Got mine in last week. Ordered it Thursday afternoon got it Friday afternoon. Not bad for free shipping. The monitor is not nearly as ugly in person(IMO). So far so good. No dead pixels, colors seem fine to me and it's huge. Of course I'm coming from a 5 year old 17" CRT, but I think this monitor is great. Today I'm sending in the rebates and am going to use onrebate.com's expedited service so I can get mine quicker. Costs $5.50, but I think it's worth it. If the rebates come in easily this will have been a very hot deal.

I just got my email confirmation on the $90 rebate. So that was a very quick turn around, it was worth the $5.50 to me. Great Deal!

Looks like it just had to "warm up". That band of green on the right is now gone. I find that odd. The 17" Vison I got for the office from TD had no issues. It worked perfect right out of the box.

Now to put in for that rebate and download that Nokia test mentioned above. Thanks!

Barry

I ordered on Wed, it shipped Thur and I got it today in the Seattle, Wa area. That is fast.
I sent in for rebate and it was $5.50 for the fast option.

I got mine in a few days ago. I'm very impressed with it for it being a $120 19" LCD. Brightness and contrast are good. Only complaint I could possibly formulate are that some of the colors seem a little washed out compared to my 20" widescreen LCD. Aside from that, I am VERY happy with it and wish I could purchase a few more at this price. 🙂

I also own a 2001FP, 2005FPW, 1901FP, and some Sceptre 20" widescreen LCD. This is probably the lowest quality of all of my LCDs but I love it for $120. 🙂

I'm slightly ticked. I checked the box to have the rapid reward rebate and yet I still have to mail in forms according to the instructions from OnRebate. This sucks.
PCConnection didn't include an invoice in the box either. There's a removable packing slip stuck to the outside of the box. The modem I ordered (to be over $249 to qualify for free shipping) hasn't arrived yet. According to UPS it's due on the 30th. How weird is that? I have my monitor in one day but they can't get a modem here in less than 5.

You need to print out the invoice. Sign in at PCC, check order status or something along those lines. FAQ: From the results page, you can also get a printable proof of purchase from any shipped order.

All the rapid reward thing does is get you your rebate faster. You still have to mail in all the relevant information. You are basically paying $5.50 to get your rebate expedited and not have to wait the 8-10 weeks. As 1Cheap2Crazy states, all you have to do is log in to PC Connection and print out your proof of purchase. As for the modem arriving later, that is exactly what happened to me. I was fine with that since the monitor was what I really wanted anyway and the modem was just filler. It is odd that the modem would take longer to ship though... For free shipping I couldn't complain and the monitor arrived a lot sooner than I expected.
