Thanks to my own stupidity, I have a hangover today. I have most of the symptoms, I am certain I have a hangover.

How do I get rid of it?
I am at work so I can't really use my "hair of the dog plus Valium trick". I am drinking tons of water, but it doesn't seem to be helping.

What do you guys do to get rid of hangovers?

I usually just drink a crapload of water + advil. It won't go away completely, but it helps.

Gatorade/Powerade and plenty of water as well.

your body dehydrates when consuming alcoholic beverages. greasy food is not going to help to rehydrate so you need to drink a lot of water or if you want a fast remedy then drink gatorade, powerade or any sports drink with electrolytes because it'll give you an immediate boost.

Go back in time and talk some sense into yourself.

There's no cure for a hangover besides waiting it out, but replenishing your fluids slowly throughout the day and light, nutritious meals will get you back on track easier and with less nausea.

Gatorade + Aleve + multivitamin for me. When I used to take Percocet for my back those didn't hurt either. :)

In my experience the greasy food only works if you have it before you go to sleep the night of drinking. I find the next day it has mixed results. A handful of motrin and water and your sport drink of choice usually works good. Some chiba works REALLY well if thats you kinda thing.

You sure a lactose product is a good idea on an upset stomach? I always heard it wasn't.

Yep, works for me. :) But being I have ADHD I have never been hungover. In fact, when I get shitfaced I usually wake up even earlier than normal when I pass out.

I would if I could. That is usually my remedy, but I am at work and my company frowns upon drinking during work hours.

Bloody Mary. Since you're at work. Lots of water, ibuprofen, and food - plenty of it. I would go with chicken salads or something along those lines.

I actually researched this a while back during a particularly bad hangover. The SCIENTIFIC CURE is Vitamin C and lots of water. Alcohol drains the vitamin C from your body leaving you sick feeling and off-balance.. So the cure is a big glass of orange juice (or a vitamin C pill) followed by plenty of water. That will kill and prevent hangovers. Every time I drink heavily, I pop a vitamin C pill and have a glass of water before bed. It works every time.

Tomorrow.
The only real total "cure" for a hangover is suffering today, not drinking tonight, and being back to normal tomorrow.

You are at work, so this will not help at present.

However, a swim into COLD water will clear it quickly.

Hangovers are smart, they do not like the cold. Unlike the stupid host that collects a hangover in order to suffer.
