I bought a Maxtor 200GB drive. I searched on the net to make sure my mobo, Abit AS8 would would support the drives over 137GB (OK , it does). So I went into BIOS, changed to boot from CD, and formatted the drive as a single 200GB partition. I shut down, made it a slave, reattached my old HD as master, and booted back to the Maxtor CD. I used the file copy utility to copy the old HD ( which is a single 120GB partition) which took the better part of a day. I shut down, disconnected the old HD, made the new HD Master, connected it to the end of the IDE cable, and booted back up. Now I get stuck at the Verifying DMI Data Pool message. I shutdown, cleared CMOS, and came back up, same problem. Is there a step I missed with the MaxBlast software?
TIA
PS-I made sure the IDE cable is snug
