Cross platform? FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Watching G4 is like watching two civic owners talking about ebay spoilers and subwoofers in the parkinglot of a track. They just ignore the important and talk about consoles nonstop. I hadn't watched it in years until this E3, and they just showed a bunch of boring console crap. CRAP

I do agree, but I give Adam's Rage coverage a small + because he asterisked most of his compliments with "on the 360", implying he knows the PC is ahead of the curve.

As far as Rage goes, I really don't see myself getting past the health regen and that you can't die. Hopefully someone can put the modding tools to good use and remove that crap, and somehow work in a more challenging system, otherwise I'll prolly pass. Unfortunately, Doom 4 will likely have the same forgiving casual gamer features, ruining any potential it has.

It certainly looks good, and fun. Lately with Bulletstorm and now Rage I wonder how many other Borderlands-inspired games we'll see out there
I'm pretty sure Rage started development at nearly the same time, if not before Boarderlands, I don't think it was highly influenced by it.

I would be suprised if a Doom game made it so your health regenerated and you couldn't die, because the fear of death is a huge part of that game. Without that, it wouldn't be Doom.

I'd like to think that too, but death plays an extremely important roll in all shooters in my opinion, and yet more and more developers are putting these asinine features into their games that can't be disabled. These babying features are ruining gaming for me, but as I mentioned, at least this time we have modding tools.

Looks boring and AI pathing looks retarded no thanks.
I find it strange you mention AI path finding specifically as being bad, considering it's one of the features many people found particularly impressive. Even in the second G4 E3 video, the AI movement is brought up by the interviewee I think more than anything else as being better than anything seen before.

I didn't see anything impressive about it. The whole thing looked "meh" to me.

I love the remote controlled explosive. Looks fun! This is only exclusive for XBOX360 right? :3

Looks amazing, and considering it DX9 (I guess for PC) and OpenGL for consoles, I hope the PC version is even better. I can't wait to see what id do with something like DX11, but I'll probably be in a retirement home before that happens at their rate of production. The gameplay looks totally boring though, just another run and gun like Doom3, I'll probably wind up buying it when it's on sale though, if nothing more than a benchmark/tech demo.

I'm not so impressed. The visuals don't look so great, but then it's being played on 360, and the video isn't that high resolution, so it's difficult to tell.

I wasn't dazzled by the gameplay either. The wingstick looks pretty sick though.

But, it is an id developed game, so there's going to be something to love about it.

The FPS parts are reminding me strongly of Quake 4. That's strange since Q4 was supposedly developed by a different studio than Id wasn't it? Still, the character animations and the general pace of the action is similar.

Raven ?

People are calling this a tech demo, but from what Ive read, doom4 is going to be the one with all out graphics. If rage is developed as a 60FPS game, doom4 is going to be 30FPS. To be honest, im anticipating on D4 more than this game.

As for gameplay, Ill reserve judgement once its out, which is sadly next year :(

Looks like another mindless action game. Purty graphics, but other than that.. *yawn* Better have a good story or something else to redeem it. Same reason I avoided Crysis.

I just started Crysis the other day (yes, I know, I'm about 3 years late...) and I think it's pretty good. To be fair, on almost any other shooter I reckon the game would be crappy, but the graphics make it happen.

I think it looks bad because of the horrible controls. The movement of the character is so unnatural it throws off the rest of the game visuals. Is this just because he is using an xbox, so it is hard to control the character?

Nope..demo is free [suppose to be available sometime next year]
Game with editor will be...probably $59.99...maybe 2012 when it's finally released?

The demo was actually pretty impressive... Sure..it's another post apocalyptic game - but that's what id software has always released - games about mayhem and destruction in a world gone bad..and mad. :)

No, he was reffering to the fact that Doom 3 wasnt much of a video game but it was a very impressive tech demo. Shame you had to pay 50 bucks to see it.
I happen to agree with that sentiment. Id forgot how to make fun video games by the time Doom 3 came out, and Quake 4 was actually made by a different company.
Small wonder Id got bought out. BUT, that just means the game has some real potential.

Though I will agree with some other posters that the setting used in FPS's nowadays seem a little uninspired. We need to get some more fantasy settings in games today. (I dont mean Middle Earth fantasy, though I bet a shooter set there would still be pretty good.)
