I really love the doubters...

What gets me is that the younger posters who should be embracing this kind of fundamental change, aren't.

Sigh...

Cue the but it doesn't have X bitching.....

Do you-all really imagine 5-10 years from now that anyone wont have a tablet computer?

Honestly, I could give a rats ass about who builds it or what OS it has, Id be as happy with an Android or a Chrome tablet, its the fucking future of tech, the world changes, and those who resist are swept into the dustbin of morons...

I actually remember the first widely available calculator, and how people responded to it.

What will I do with one of those?

Sigh....

moose, the reason you don't see all the "your people" clamoring for it is because they don't have a need for it, the tech geek has evolved, the no longer buy every new tech simply because its new, they buy it to fill a spot in their tech lineup. the ipad for many has no place at all. and Yes i see people in 5-10 years not owning one simply based off the fact that i know people that still don't have cellphones. Their reasoning is they like not being able to be reached.

Speaking personally on the ipad i cannot think of anytime in the last 5 years or so that having said device would have made my life better. TBH the only time i see it being useful is on a plane to pass the time. But you can do that with a laptop as well. the ipad is too big to be useful to me, its really not portable enough and needs to be carried in a bag, and if i'm gonna bring a bag everywhere im gonna just use my laptop which can do real computer shit.

So how the heck do you get pics onto your Ipad without the USB dongle add-on? Do you have to upload them from your PC to online storage, then download them onto your Ipad?

Um did you even bother to read my post before calling me a fan boy...

Seriously, please re read it, carefully, especially the part prefaced with rats ass...

Were it a Google product, Id likely have bought 2.

Seriously, the Google guys always pride themselves with being the smartest guys in the room, why didn't they develop a tablet & take it to market & beat Apple?

The thing is, Ive wanted a tablet PC forever, the fact that Apple brought a decent one to market first is only a coincidence.

I snagged a mouse when it was available, I ran (or tried to run) Windows 286, I love tech, always have.

My gadget tally

HTPC running W7 using a projector

17 inch Dell notebook

Dell Mini 9 seriously modded (and a distaste for netbooks, its going on eBay)

A couple of Windows Mobile phones, 3 Android phones, a BB the WM phones and Android phones set up to tether...

And an iPad

I didn't call you a fanboy. I didn't even mention Apple. I said you seem care way too much about the iPad.

I recall you thought netbooks were pretty great when you first got one, and you seem to switch phones pretty frequently. I won't be surprised when you wake up and realize that the iPad is not as great as you think it is.

You're right, it really sucks, I was wrong. Goddamn it.

I guess I don't understand why you care...

And, if the horrible truth be known, heres why I'm such a fan http://finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s=AAPL#symbol=AAPL;range=1y

Here's what I'd love a jailbreaker to do. Create a "ClickToFlash" alternative for the iPad/iPhone.. then instead of the blue blocks, you'd get a nice rectangle that you could touch to let Flash run. Then Adobe can release the Flash plugin via Cydia/Icy/RockApp.. whatever, and you can preserve battery life but still run Flash when you need to. That way it'd shut up the whole debate.

Personally, I have developed AS3 Flash apps, because of necessity (client demands), but I really don't care for Flash very much. There are somethings that it does very well.. but overall, I feel you can get a very similar experience with JS.

I'm just tired of the whole debate.
