Hands are really dry need lotion

My hands are becoming irritated, red, itchy, and skin is starting the flake off at finger nail area's due to the minimum wage job I hold (dishwasher). Now I've been applying "Vaseline® Intensive Rescue? Moisture Locking Lotion" (coppa pasta) and it's not helping at all, now my hands are starting to hurt probably because the skin is going to start cracking soon. ATOT is there any better lotion?

There's a high protein lotion that your own body produces, might want to try it.

Get vasoline, smother hands in vasoline, rubberband baggies over hands. Sleep. Wake up and wash off.

I've had good experience using Eucerin lotion. A tad on the expensive side, but it seems to work very well.

Instead of using lotion (with contains mineral oil and/or alcohols), dab a little bit of extra virgin olive oil on the back of your hands. The dishwashing is sucking all the natural oils out of your skin.

Probably, but I'd probably have to keep them taped close to prevent water getting inside. It would be kind of cumbersome considering we have a few more job tasks other than just dishwashing (carry out orders, salad prep, stocking, and some desserts).

Normally my hands would have heal but because another dishwasher quit last week there is only three of us now and we all are working 6 day's a week(not that I'm complaining about the extra hours).

vaseline jelly. It's extremely thick and greasy but locks in moisture like nothing else. since it's only your hands that needs moisturizing, the inconvenience should not be too bad.

on the other hand, it might be contact eczema that you are having which won't be cured by mere moisturizing.

Well by the google images, my hands aren't even remotely as bad. So it's 100% not that.

We use the giant bottle size Keri lotion from Costco.

Ps. Wear gloves.

Well by the google images, my hands aren't even remotely as bad. So it's 100% not that.

the pics tend to be extremely bad... it can be very mild. anyway red and itchy sounds to me like your skin is irritated beyond simply dehydration.

Agreed. My hands get so dry in the winter that they actually crack. This stuff is great.


But if your problem is from nasty dishwater, it could be a fungal thing. I don't know much about that.

The only hand lotion that has ever worked on my severely dry hands is Neutrogena Hand Cream.

Well my hands also have a some-what glossy look to them under light, even when dry and no grease/sweat on them. i can also make-out each little wrinkle in my skin... (in fact I can feel them when I brush over my hands)

Come on now I know it's a legit question and deserves a legit answer, which you will get too. But posting anything on ATOT about you hands needing lotion, well yeah you are going to get this.

If it were my post I would have ended it with "and yes I've already tried sperm".
