I would never take a handicap parking space, if I didn't need it. I don't mind walking across the lot, and when I get out, I'm usually in an easier place to get out of the lot. I have a friend who has MS, and uses a wheelchair most of the time. those spaces are made larger, so he can get out of his car, remove his wheelchair from the back, and take off. If people are in those spots that don't need them, it frustrates him, but he will park in the back of the lot, so he knows he will be able to get in and out of he car when he returns.

One guy at work almost ran me over at like 15mph one day (in his wheelchair) when he was in a rush, no joke. He used to take almost ten minutes to go accross the main room at work just to take up time so he didn't have to take calls. That was the only time I saw him go fast, he obviously hides it.

Our society promotes being handicapped. What ever happened to natural selection?

What are you, stupid?

Wow. You're pretty much a complete tool. Good luck with that.

Seconded.

What ever happened to being sensitive towards people with disablities, jackass? By your standards, I should have been left for the wolves because I have a hearing problem.

If you're strong enough to overcome the adversities, that's great! That's what natural selection is all about!

In a few months, when karma catches up to you and you get run over by a short bus and your legs are useless - i hope some jackass just like you takes the last handicapped spot and you're forced to wheel yourself through the pissing rain just to get to the drug store and restock your collostomy bags.

This post makes me wonder if we shouldn't have parking spaces designated for dumbasses.

'I use my dad's handicap tag so that I don't have to put a sticker on my nice car'?? WTF.

Nah, I think a couple of good keyings of his car would be more fitting. Just because he is selfish, childish and rather moronic doesn't mean he deserves to be handicapped himself.

Ok, I voted yes. But its really a moot point. The only time I'd park in a handicap spot with no pentalies is if there were NO other spots available, like it was like at my college when I had to stalk people walking into the lot to grab their space when they left. The reason I say its moot is because if I could park there with no penalties, then I assume everyone else could. If that were the case, that spot would be taken when I arrived as well. With no penalties, its just a regular parking spot.

Now for a story:

The other day my girl and I went to costco. On the way out, I noticed a brand new mustang parked in a handicap spot. It had a sticker. I watched as a overweight white trashy looking middle aged woman got out of the car with a couple kids. She appeared to have no problems walking whatsoever. She wasn't even obese, although she was certainly crammed into a pair of way to small pants.
An employee of costco came up to her and said that it was a disabled spot and she could park there. She sqauked at him "I have a tag!" and pointed at her car with an angry look her face. Then she walked off into the store without another word. The guy checked her car quickly after and sort of rolled his eyes and went back to his post. Its bullsh|t, but there's nothing he could do about it.
There were TONS of other parking spaces, including an open one only about 4 cars away from the handicap spot. The only reason she parked there was because she COULD and she was FAT and LAZY. I bet she stole the sticker off her grandmothers car or something for the afternoon.

It does, when there are an abundance of people out there who are handicapped that do not deserve it.

I have an extreme aggression towards people who park in the handicapped spots but are not impared in anyway.

My mom is handicapped, i have many memories of being forced to park the van WAYYY out in the parking lot in order to have the room to get the ramp out of the side door...getting soaked in the rain..only because some selfish sh1tfvck parked in the handicapped spots.

I am a proponent of eugenics, so I'll keep from commenting any further. And yes, I'd rather be put to sleep for those of you wanting to judge me as a hypocrite.

That happens a lot, and it pisses me off too...but some people have other problems that aren't apparent.
I confronted a lady i work with about that (she's not fat, no limp or anything, but had a handi-tag).
Turns out she has a circulation problem and she can't walk long distances.
She also takes an hour nap every day in the lunch room...also "ok" because of her circulation problem.

Well I bet none of them would wish what ails them on others as they understand the difficulties of being hanndicapped unlike the OP who is a prime example of the self centered, self indulgent "Me First" kiddies who are giving this current generation such a bad rap.

Well then take matters into your own hands instead of waiting for somebody else to put you asleep.

yeah, if not more.
sometimes i park farther away just to not look like a lazy-ass.

Places like Wal-Mart are the best for this sort of thing. I love just choosing a row and parking at the first available spot on that row. Hell, it could be 100 yards away from the door. Anyway, I'll start walking towards the front, get ready to walk inside, and notice that some of the same cars that were looking for a spot when I first turned into the row are still looking for a spot. Hell, I wonder if these people are still looking for the 'up front' parking spot when I'm already in the check out line.

Yeah, I do the same thing. I just drive down and park. Who cares if its far? Its not like its 20 miles away, its just a few hundred feet and the walking will do me good.

No wonder America is the fattest nation on earth.

I'll need a 2nd opinion on that; Eugenics isn't about spontaneous/random extermination

I might if I was literally just running in to like return a movie or pick up a pizza or something that took less than a couple minutes. Otherwise, no.

No...walking an extra 50' never bothered me.

I saw some yuppie driving a Lexus SUV pull into the bank parking lot today and right into handicapped spot. He'd been following me...er....tailgating me for about a mile. He slaps a handicap placard onto his rearview mirror, hops out of the SUV and jaunts into the bank.

What an asshat.

yeap. it happens a lot.

I have a handicapped tag. I need to have my right hip replaced and my right foot worked on.

I do have a slight limp but i look and walk ok. the only reason i need it replaced is the hip bone is fragmenting. It hurts to walk to far in cold weather. But i rarely park in handicap parking. In the summer walking is not that bad.

but you can't go by looks alone. I look fine but still need the parking sticker on occasion.

last time i used it was at a concert. it got me closer seats and parking space! oh and at magic waters heh

There is this lady that I work with that has a handicap perm plate. She walks with no limp and no visual handicaps at all. One day I see her lifting a 21" monitor into the back of her CR-V. Later the jokes fly around the office "Yea her only handicap is for sure mental."

If I saw you park there, I'd key your little peice of sh[/b]it car. Maybe I'll just drop my ramp on it.
