Handbrake?

Will handbrake convert .vob files. I took and ripped some of my DVDs using DVDShrink and now I want to encode them to mp4s. Am I going about this the right way. My end goal is to use my Mac Mini as an HTPC. Thanks

This is a newer Mac Mini without optical drive?

I think that OS X will mount the VOBs and go from there, but i don't have any handy, and am probably not going to spend the time to make one to test.
