This program obviously converts video into another format.

Problem is I want to convert an .avi Xvid movie into a format that my Ipod Video can understand and play (With the movie playing it's film and not only audio). I haven't the slightest clue on where to begin with this process. How can I do this?

Thanks for reading and even more for replying =).

I thought handbrake only converted DVD/mpeg sources to other formats...but I haven't used it in a long time, so I don't remember exactly.

You might have better luck trying avidemux.

edit: yup, from their page

Supported sources:

* Any DVD-like source: VIDEO_TS folder, DVD image or real DVD (encrypted or unencrypted, but protection methods other than CSS are not supported and must be handled externally with third-party software), and some .VOB and .TS files
* PAL or NTSC
* AC-3, DTS, LPCM or MPEG audio tracks

Outputs:

* File format: MP4, MKV, AVI or OGM
* Video: MPEG-4 or H.264 (1 or 2 passes or constant quantizer/rate encoding)
* Audio: AAC, MP3, Vorbis or AC-3 pass-through (supports encoding of several audio tracks)

Thing is I got an Xvid movie and I want to convert into a IPOD format, from how I see it, I'm gonna need to convert it to an MPEG. With handbrake, I have no idea how to turn an Xvid into a MPEG. I'm alittle bit confused with the options it gives me; it wants me to open a VIDEO_TS folder, which I don't know of and have.
