Hand-over-hand method

Hello there...

Am taking my driver exam next month and wanted some clarification. Lets suppose I'm turning left, would my left hand cross over my right hand to continue the turn? If I need to turn some more, I would continue repeating this right?

Thanks

Yes - always go hand-over-hand or they'll bust you (they did in my drivers training at least). When I took the test, it was acceptable to release the steering wheel by letting the wheel slide through your hands.

Nor did I. I cant even remember the last time that I drove with both hands on the wheel. I would guess that it was my second driver's test. After that I got my first car which was a manual and that killed the whole two-handed driving thing.

it actually the correct way to turn, on the bottom the wheel you quickly shuffle the wheel right or left.

Thats what I do when I'm driving with two hands although they fail you if you do it in the test 🙁

Thanks much for your help guys...

You generally aren't shifting in the middle of a sharp corner. The hand over hand method is the correct way to drive.

x2 😀 And here I was thinking about one hand being jealous b/c the other was on top/bottom. 😀

if your hands go over each other, you will fail the test.

put one hand at 3 o'clock and the other at 9 o'clock (Or 7 & 2) ... then shuffle the wheel with your hands staying in that position.
