Why would someone risk an ER trip over a $1 food item?

I take it you don't have insurance either so us tax payers would have to foot your stomach pump.

Fool.

EDIT: Why am I even replying to him? Must... resist...

You guys crack me up. There is no way that an expired box of hamburger helper would send anyone to the ER to have their stomach pumped.

My concern was that it wouldn't taste right, not that it would make me sick; I knew it wouldn't do that.

The hamburger helper was fine, couldn't even tell it was old.

Thanks for the update! 🙂

Dry items can go bad and change overtime.

Like I said though WHY RISK IT...not that it's definitely going to happen. Seriously, the flavor has got to be off and if the shelf life was longer they'd have a longer expiration.

However most above are probably relying on their moms to still make this for them.

That's not entirely true. The packaging itself can degrade over time as well as lead to moisture migration which in turn leads to microbial growth. Granted, the product is dried and has a low water activity it would take a major moisture migration issue to cause any of the aforementioned.

And then Eli would be in the next episode of House.

I haven't eaten this human dog food in a long time, but if the pasta is just in the box as typical with pastas...it can spoil / mold with just the humidity.

The big question though is why is risking this over what amounts to a dollar in food product worth it?

Yeah... but in this case, it's probably Lupus.
