He did some pretty shitty stuff in season 1. Destroying all of Cameron's work comes to mind immediately. Burning the truckload of computers at the end of season 1 comes to mind as well.

I thought the destruction of Cameron's work was all a big hoax he orchestrated because she wasn't ever organized or backed up her data. IIRC that's when Donna was brought in to help recover data from the memory chips, and by the end of the episode it was revealed he had the set of discs the entire time. It was a bit harsh making Cameron think she just blew everything and it was all her fault, but he forced her to change a little problem wouldn't become a catastrophic failure.

As far as burning a truckload of computers at the end of the season, it seemed like Joe was finally starting to crack after all that pressure. Seems harsh to hold it against him when it was an apparent mental breakdown.

It will be interesting to see how they start to treat Gordan now that he has shown that as a problem himself. Will Donna be able to 'put up' with his new condition or is it going to rock their home.

Only 1 episode left in the season 🙁. I wish they had at least a few more. Always seems like there's plenty to explore and I hate waiting so long to see a new season!

I'm not sure who would be crazy enough to hire Joe in California after:

1) Destroying a data center at IBM when he quit there
2) Burning a truck load of computers when he quit Cardiff
3) And now trashing Westgroup's network during an annual shareholder meeting when he quit there (Yeah, that one was Cameron's fault, but do you think anyone is going to believe that?)

Can someone explain what Cameron did to crash Westnet? Was there something on the disc she gave Joe? I don't get it.

I would imagine it may have been a modification of the software Gordon wrote to check for all network users of Mutiny. The same one that wiped all the data from every system in mutiny and all connected computers.

I don't think it was modified at all.

So I guess my question is: did Cameron do it to get back at Joe, or to get back at WestNet? She understood that he wasn't behind them stealing their interface, but she also knew he was leaving the company, did she just not know he would be at that meeting as the keynote speaker?

So now we have gordon going from possible problem to full danger to himself.

The old guy getting written off the show.

And still no real clue of what tech arc they were trying to duplicate like they did in season one. At this point I'd say its about the nintendo launch as much as anything else.

Her getting all loving at the end to get him to inject the "virus" was quite funny.

I love the fact they're moving all the main characters to California. I think it just opens the door to so much more in that area. I liked the idea that Donna told Gordon they can't keep swapping roles with someone always being the worker and the other watching the kids. Guess the drama early next seasons will be with the Donna's abortion she kept from Gordon, and what happened to Tom. I shouldn't be surprised Joe would somehow turn this epic disaster into his favor again.

MacMillian Utility is going to be needing some major programming help and I wonder if he may have snagged the young Tom since he saw his capabilities at Mutiny, and it would be a way of getting revenge back at Cameron. We see him at his home a month later, but with him not joining the flight and the magazine article just coming out, he could have signed with Joe. Heck Joe could even of told him he could work from home as a bonus. I think Joe would really do a lot to get revenge at Cameron.

Sad news is AMC hasn't renewed HCF for a 3rd season yet 🙁.

Yeah, if this show gets renewed for a third season I have a hunch that Mutiny is going to find themselves needing the help of McMillan AntiVirus (and his VC money) at some point 🙂

The virus itself was always something that bugged me this season. First, it was a C64 program that infected a network of IBM XT's and Commodore 64's that the customers used. Then it became a C64 program that can somehow infect a Mainframe. And then in the finale, it became an IBM PC program that could supposedly infect whatever computers that Venture Capital company had.

Joe isn't a programmer, so there is no way he could have recompiled the virus and antivirus software to work on a PC. That's a pretty big plot hole to me.

I'm not reading all the thread as I'm only on S02E07 right now. I just wanted to pop in and say that Kerry Bishé is incredibly pretty.

Really hope that AMC gives them a third season, but it doesn't look good. Apparently the ratings have just gone from bad to worse.

Season 2 was great, though, and I love the way it ended.
