Don't get me started on this phrase

Over here it's called a manual. 80% of the cars on the road

I wish more over here were. Its usually something special order.

But we are lazy and its much too hard to shift while talking on your cell phone while putting on your makeup

You shouldnt get so hung up on shit like this. Every country has their own quirks. It would be rather boring if they didnt.

What annoying is when people use words incorrectly. Like how some idiot Americans call the main course an entree.

No! The words means starter. Its the first course.

That's very irritating, but I do find the notion of "driving a stick" to be completely moronic, particularly when a lot of automatics have gear sticks.

Haha, that's true, plus how can you hold the burger!

I'd imagine the phrase comes from the time when automatics were column shift, and manuals were floor shift.

I can forgive that.

However, the entrée thing makes me want to punch people in the face.

Understandable.

I had never seen a "column shift" car until I went to america, I was really confused about how to drive the thing.

So... what's the deal with Chicken Tikka Masala? It's supposedly the UK's most popular dish, but it's considered Indian cuisine!

Chicken Tikka Massala is a British dish concocted in a British pub.

That should tell you something about the popularity of their cuisine within their own country--that it was easy enough for a co-opted dish to take over the number one spot.

😉

What came first though? That's a more accurate evaluation of who does it weird.

so, we're all now in the weird because we once thought the sun revolved around the earth?

when a new idea improves upon a bad idea, it's always wrong?

:hmm:

If it's not an improvement but an irrelevant change just to make the world needlessly more complicated then yeah it's weird.

Seriously?

It's the one thing the US does that isn't opposed to the rest of the planet's habit, and you're STILL going to try and fight it? It doesn't matter what came first, what matters is now. Right now, you are the outliers.

Not at all, you argue that we are weird for not going with the majority, that's ridiculous, I say it's you who are weird for illogically changing it.

If the minority are weird then you should google how many countries still use imperial measurements.

What do the British think about Australians in this day and age? I mean they originally sent all the criminals there.

No problems with them, general consensus is they have a beautiful country, we jab at them about being the descendants of criminals etc, but that's about it. A lot of people in England emigrate to Australia.

Do they support/acknowledge the Queen and the royal family?

Assuming you mean people in the UK, most people don't care, they don't cost us much money, and they seems to bring in a huge amount of tourism, some people hate them, some people love them, but I'd say 80% don't care.

Actually I was referring to Australians.
