Halo Wars 2 EU box copy mentions 1080 Ti

Recently got my copy of Halo Wars 2 ultimate edition in Germany and the box has three system requirement tiers with last "ultra" tier recommending a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.

Interesting as this came out before nVIDIA let the cat out of the bag themselves.

This was mentioned in the Nvidia Pascal thread. Looks like the TI is releasing on the 28th

Those requirements for games never make any sense. They put a FuryX next to a card comparable to a TitanXP and say you need 8Gb of Vram. If the game supports SLI, then two 980ti's, 1070's or 1080's will do even better, perhaps with reduced textures for the 980ti's. FuryX should be in the recommended requirements section due to 4gb of Vram.

I remember when people said the 1080TI might not be coming -.-
Sad thing was it came from those who favor Nvidia products as if they still don't understand the Nvidia release model.

Yup. It was just a matter of time before it came out. I'm hoping it's priced like the 980ti at Titan XP levels of performance but that might be wishful thinking.
Not sure if I should keep my 1080s or sell it off for a single ti if does offer that kind of performance at ~650 while resale value is still high.

If GTX 1080 Ti is <$700 I might consider it.

But it won't be. And realizing had I bought a Titan Xp last year, the GTX 1080 Ti releasing would just not even matter to me. $730 for a GTX 1080 in '16 and say $800 for a GTX 1080 Ti in '17, to end up where basically in the same spot had I just gone Titan Xp for $1200 in '16.

Oh well, OT season is coming up, new position at work, even more "free" money to blow. Let's see what AMD puts on the table to compete! Remembering a prior hype train let's hope 90% of GTX 1080 Ti for half the price! DO IT!!!!

Yeah, that's why I waited for 6 months to pick up my 1080s. I got them for ~500 on Craigslist. No way in hell was I paying the $700+ inflated prices they were going at launch. Getting a Titan is always a gamble and it paid off for those who got them last year. Those who bought a Titan in 2015 got shafted 2-3 months later with the 980ti.

I expect a raise or to simply just leave my job for more pay. Once I do that, I'll probably step up to a setup with pretty poor diminishing returns. For now I want 2 Vega, but may get 3-4.

Ya, Nvidia staggers their gpu release to ensure that each gpu gives value. Titan xp is a "cost efficient" gpu depending on your time value of money

Would be more excited about this if I didn't already know they were going to price gouge it harder than less gen.

Exactly. AMD REALLY needs to knock one out of the park with Vega so the high-end can get some competition again.
Looking at the cpu side of things, competition is crucial. I feel amd won't be idiotic this time around. Even if top amd gpu didn't compete with titan xp/1080ti (I doubt this) I expect amd to have extremely competitive pricing this time around at the high end if the cpus are any indication of how aggressive amd is trying to be.

Reading my post here and my more recent post in the announcement thread, I flip flop like a politician running for re-election! haha.

Time to get locked 99 FPS in FFXIV!!!!
