Halo video problem (or so i think)

hello,

i installed a new video card (sapphire ati radeon 9000 pro) and now halo won't run.

it ran just fine with my last video card ( a GF2 MX!).

when i start the game, i see the initial screen and then the game jumps to the desktop, as if minimized.

i click the taskbar icon and it just goes back to the desktop.

i'm running:
T-bird 1.2
512 PC2100
SB Live 5.1
radeon 9000 pro 128mb

this system ran the game just fine when i had my GeFOrce 2MX in there. wtf.
