I am playing on heroic, was going well until I hit the excavation site. I think there is a bug with that boss. My first try I didn't get a cut scene and he had no health bars. I could see I was getting his shield down, but couldn't seem to kill him. After quitting out of frustration (died 20x times) I tried again the next day. Got a cut scene and saw health bars. Took 2 tries to get him down, though granted I overprepared for that attempt. This boss is notorious as the worst boss in the game. If anyone has trouble with him, there is an easy way to kill him see spoiler:
you can cheese him by grappling to the ledge above the doorways from the main room, he will sort of bug out as he can't reach you with his hammer

I learned that trick from AC: Odyssey. Only way to deal with having 5 mercenaries, soldiers, and citizens all trying to take you out. Its version of 5 stars in GTA. Good to hear he is the worst one.
Getting rid of the 2 Spartan killers they sent was a PITA too. And my cheese is going to slide of my cracker if I have to fight flood in this game. I HATE the flood.

There was a story from someone who is known as one of the most reliable leakers about Halo stuff. Anyway it may or may not be true but their leak says that the Halo campaign was supposed to be like three times bigger than it was. Way more open world, they just kept running into issues and it all got scaled down.

The open world may expand via DLC.

Finished it yesterday; I did almost every thing there is to do. For my taste, this is the best Halo campaign. Being able to grind a little for weapon variants and upgrades to gear was satisfying.

This the Jason Schreier story? I cannot imagine what they would have done to make is 3x bigger. It is already big for a Halo game. Every Halo game has been about 8 hrs for the campaign.

I'm not criticizing the campaign, just passing along info. It would explain the insanely long development time plus some things about multiplayer, and coop and forge being so delayed

I'm super excited to play it when coop comes out.

Listening to some of the official soundtrack is giving me goosebumps. Seems like they went back and took inspiration from the first 3 games, really sounds fantastic.

For some reason, the game now crashes to desktop when trying to initially load the campaign map.

Holy hell Microsoft, you suck.

I install Halo via the Xbox App because that is where I bought it and I'd like progress to transfer between my Xbox and PC as I play. Install a 6600xt card and radeon drivers. Radeon software doesn't see the game Halo. Turns out games installed through the Xbox app are installed in ProgramFiles/WindowsApps and that is a hidden folder. But you are not allowed access even as an administrator. You have to jump through hoops to get access to a FUCKING GAME FOLDER ON YOUR OWN DAMN PC THAT YOU INSTALLED.

Except so far none of the tricks I googled worked.

This is ridiculous.

Can you paste in the path (change the c to your drive)?
C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.254428597CFE2_1.3266.27842.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\

FWIW, Nvidia Geforce experience can access it no problem.

Finished the campaign the other day. Good time, I would give it an 8/10. Story is a little weak, but not bad.

Thanks. I can actually see the files in the folder with that shortcut, but I still can't direct the Radeon software to it, when I click on the .exe it says I don't have access

got myself access to the halo game folder. Was getting low FPS at 1080P everything on Medium - but somehow fixed that too.

Got a few games in last night. Then went to launch atactical slayer match today. Got a game in. Went to launch another. Says no connection to internet. Phone was on wifi no problem. Computer is on ethernet. Tried using Firefox on the PC, no internet. Windows sees know internet connection. Restarted the router and nothing worked still. Ran network diagnostics, windows thinks there is no ethernet cable plugging in. Had to restart the PC. Launched Halo again. Went to join a match. Same thing. Seems Halo Infinite is making windows think there is no ethernet adapter on the motherboard temporarily.

Launching a Halo Infinite match is turning off the internet on my computer. A quick google shows this has been happening to some people. Haven't seen a solution besides saying do restarts and it seems to fix itself for some people.

Thanks Microsoft.

Picked up MS game pass and am enjoying the infinite campaign so far.
Honestly I'm super impressed with how well optimized the game is - I'm running pretty high settings at 4k on a 3060 and the game is pretty damn smooth.
I like how taking down a boss gives you new weapon options that you can spawn in at FOBs. Sure it's not as "tight" as the more linear/rail experience as previous entries, but it's a nice change of pace
