halo graphics settings...

max resolution i can go on my dell inspiron 8200 is 1600x1200. its my standard res too. but when i play halo, i can only go upto 1280x1024. is there anyway to change it so i can go upto 1600x1200?

Gotcha.

I'll check once I get home and see how high I can push the resolution. I don't use anything over 1024x768 with Halo, so I don't have an clue at the moment.
 
I just checked and I can go all the way up to 1600x1200 under the Halo video settings. I'm not sure if it's related, but you might check and see what the max resolution that your monitor can support.
 
This is probably a limitation of your graphics card - if you can change the setting, make sure you are allocating as much memory to our video card as you can.
 
its weird though...the max resolution i can go under halo is 1280x1024. same thing happens when I play need for speed: underground. but if i play some emulators (snes9x, visual boy advance) and even unreal tournament 2004, i can max it out to 1600x1200. im using a geforce 4 MX 400 go 64MB. it should be fine, but i dunno.
 
Heh...good luck @ 1600x1200. My 9800Pro (not oc'd), 1gb RAM, 3.06ghz, can't go above 1280x1024 without looking like a slideshow.
