Halo gets better marks than RS2

Its going to be a good next week... Im glad I made the choice I did. Halo 9.7, extremely long solo, opposed to RS2, 9.4 extremely short solo. RS2 is the best GC launch title, Halo is the best Xbox launch title.. And they said Xbox had crap games.

Every place I have seen has given MS's first party titles higher marks than their GC counterparts. All of them... Things that make ya go hmmmm, is Xbox really going to bomb? I dont think so...

b) this is one game...since when did one game make a system?

c) Who says RS is the best GC game? I personally think SSB is.

d) If you think XBox will take 1st place, over the PS2, you need a head examination. I think the PS2 is the weakest platform of the 3, but you are a fool if you don't think it will win.

PS2 is really starting to kick out the good games now. Metal Gear Solid 2, Grand Theft Auto 3, SSX Tricky, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, 007 - Agent Under Fire, Devil May Cry, Ace Combat 4, and the list goes on...

go read the review at voodooextreme. he gave halo a 95%. a good rating, but read the whole thing, the game still has frame rate problems. come on folks, this game has been in development the longest. it was supposed to be locked at 60fps. they then said 30 fps. now they cant even lock that. seriously pisses me off. the entire idea behind having a console is so there is no choppiness (for me anyway). was really disappointed to hear that. rs2 blisters along at a locked 60fps. i dont care for either game, nor console anymore. i do hope nintendo wins out however. ill be sticking to my pc

Ah...more anti-GC flamebait, maybe? One game, with a .3 higher rating, from somewhere you haven't stated (and it better not be IGN ) is not going to decide anything. If you expect the "system wars" to be decided by a tech demo (Luigi's Mansion) and Wave Race 1.5 (Blue Storm) vs. DOA3, Project Gotham and more, you're mistaken.

Nobody said the XBox had crap games. People were underwhelmed by the hardware's power which was short of revolutionary; they were annoyed by the monstrosity they called a controller; they were even PO'ed by their XBoxes locking up in M$ style . The anti-M$ sentiment also kind of fvcks them over. And the $100 extra for a first entry into the REAL gaming arena vs. GC and an established PS2 is not a good place to be...but the XBox does NOT HAVE CRAP GAMES. PS2 does, but there'll be enough good games to get the crap out.

XBox won't bomb, but they'll be this gaming generations' N64-the niche system.

Opps I forgot. Both reviews are from Gamespot. Gamespot gave RS2 9.4 and Halo a 9.7. And Deeko you need to reread, I have never said the Xbox will be #1. I said it wont tank. Also in solo, there are only two places were it slows down from what I have heard.

I played the XBox today. A few days ago I posted my friend's remarks about NFL Fever and the XBox. I agree...

1) Controller is way too big and feels kinda funny with the main 4 button positions.
2) NFL Fever looks like NFL2k for the Dreamcast at best - the cut scenes are better, but that's not a big part of the game.
3) The thing is farkin huge...holy moly! But whatever - not a big deal.

Gamespot's Halo Review

At first Ithought he was comparing IGN to Gamespot, but for some reason, GS reviewed Halo and isn't putting it on their front page....maybe today's update?

Anyway, the whole this game for this console is better than that game for that console is tired and makes each and every person who does so an idiot.

Why idiots? Becuase for all the childish bickering you do that your $300 was better spent that someone elses, there are people like me who get and play both.

And enjoy the best of both worlds.

My whole main point was Xbox does have good games, and wont tank like everyone and their mother on this board have said it would because "it have crappy games".

The future aside there is NO denying the fact that right now the PS2 is the best system to own, and will be for at least a while, becuse the fact of the matter is the PS2 has a much better library now than any of the competition. By the time they get a comporable library it might be a while, so if you want one get it then. No point in buying now for the future. That's what I did with PS2 back last november and not until fairly recently has it really started to shine.

My only thing about buying an actual X-Box is, my bet is the Emulation for this thing is gonna be a SNAP, so I'll stick with my faster computer with more then 8 buttons (104)

Emulation might be possible except for one tiny problem...the games are dual-layerd (forget copying) and word is they don't even show up when you stick it in a PC DVD-ROM (ala Dreamcast's reversed burned games).

Guess I didn't keep up too much with the X... I just hope Halo does make the transfer sometime... I wanted Obi Wan also, but now that Jedi Knight 2 is coming out, I like the looks of that one better anyway

X-Box would be SO much more appealing if it was $200. With a PS2, |337 PC..my next purchase is a GC, not a X-Box

I'll be getting a Cube before the year is out, although I'm very tempted by PS2, only reason im getting a cube is becasue I've already put I few hundred dollars into GBA. I'll probally get a PS2 in the summer, I mean I can't just not play, GTA3, GT3, FF whichevernumbers they're at now, Devil May Cry and god knows what will be out in the next 6 months. And between those two there's no room for the X-Box

Sorry, DreamCast still has a lot more (and better) games for now. Give the PS2 a couple of years, and it may catch up.

I have all those "better games" and I barely play my Dreamcast at all. (Soul Caliber, Crazy Taxi 1 & 2, NFL2k and 2k1, THPS2, I can go on) I still play my 64 a lot more than the DC just b/c the DC almost bores me.

So far, the PS2 has the three best games of the year so far in GT3, GTA3 and MGS2

Driving simulator? That's the LAST thing GTA3 is....and in fact, out of ALL the games mentioned in this thread, there hasn't been a game all year that has had higher ratings from all the sites than GTA3.
