Halo: Bastards hacked my PC

Hello,

I have Halo on my PC. I was on a game server last night. The server I joined was full of those hacker kids. I could tell because all they were talking about in the server was hacking computers. Well, I didn't want them to do any hacking on my PC, so I did not say a word.

So here is what happened. I am playing, and I am first place, because I am whooping all of their asses. :p It seemed they were getting pissed off, and started calling me stupid names. I really didn't care of course, I just ignored. After the match was over, a new game started, and once it started, one of the "hacker kids" said "watch this." And about 5 seconds later, Halo quit. When it quit, a window came up saying "Expanding Contents." Not sure what it was, I immediatly closed it. I clicked the globe for the Norton Internet Security to see if I can maybe catch their IP address. But i could not find it. And the thing is, my Norton protection is on the HIGHEST level. I don't know how they were abe to hack through it, but they did.

Is there any way I can keep hackers on Halo from hacking my PC? Or some kind of app that will catch their IP so I can get a little "revenge" on them? ;)

Thanks! :)

Probably just exploiting some bug in Halo to cause a client crash and nothing more. Might be a known issue?

They probably just downloaded the hack somewhere.

Well, get ready to laugh some more. I am a Mac user. :)

I hardly know anything about PC's. Halo is the only thing I use it for. :p

But is there a way to stop it? The updates for Halo are fully up to date.

I don't think so, because after I restarted Halo, the server was still running, with the same amount of people there was before. I did not rejoin it though.

Before you can even join any servers, Halo automatically searches for new updates and patches. Nothing comes up, so I know all the patches are installed.

Run some virus scans just to be safe. A good firewall should keep most wannabe hackers out. As mentioned above, they probably took advantage of some kind of exploit in Halo to crash your client. I know CS:S had a bug initially where if you change your name to a certain character, you could crash other people's clients.
