I have played Halo and halo 2 there are good games indeed but dont you think both of these game are terribly over-rated ? i mean there's aint any revolutionary gameplay or something ,the game is just OK i think ?

no. halo 2 is the most played game on xbox live for a reason.

Those numbers aren't that high for a 2 year old game for no reason.

Halo II was MEGA overrated.

I agree, Halo did many things so well, but Halo 2 felt a bit rushed. I mean come on, im sure they could have avoided having textures pop into place during cut scenes....

Yeah, I think they're both somewhat overrated. Halo is a lot of fun, at least, but I don't particularly like Halo 2. I actually couldn't be motivated to finish it - I just got sick of it. I tried to pick it back up after I got my Xbox 360, and found it really un-fun.

When it was released, Halo was a great evolutionary/revolutionary game. Especially for consoles.

Halo 2 is a good game but couldn't live up to the hype created. Still, as purbeast pointed out, it is the most played game on Live for either the Xbox or Xbox 360.

There are a limited number of games with good multiplayer on Xbox Live... so it's natural that Halo 2 is going to dominate.

yep, the reason is its the best shooter the xbox console has to offer. goldeneye was a better game, and almost all PC shooters are worlds better. The Unreal Tournament series has better multiplayer matches than the Halo games.

Eh ... i have no clue what you are talking about. Pretty much every game I have that has online play on xbox live has a good interface. I can't really think of one that sucks.

In any case, Halo 2 is still a fun game to play. I'm not entirely sure why it captures my attention, or why I don't get completely and totally bored by it, but it works, magically.

Halo is an epic sci-fi. In Halo 2, if you just take your time through the levels and enjoy the art, you would be surprised. It will actually make you feel like your really on a ring planet.

I didn't care for the competitive multiplayer in either, so for me, halo was outstanding as a single player game, and without doubt the best cooperative campaign game I've ever played. Halo 2 felt like an expansion pack at best, so I do feel it is overrated since I don't care for either's deathmatch type multiplayer aspect.

Is the original Halo something special due to its Single Player mode only? Because I've only played Halo MP, and it was a snoozefest. Weak, washed out graphics and puny weapons.

And this was right after launch, not last week. I was never impressed, but maybe I'm missing something from the SP game (although the SP demo for the PC didn't do anything for me.)

They're as close to Goldeneye as you're going to get for a console FPS game.. unfortunately that's still not close enough for me to enjoy or agree it's rated correctly.

never play either for more than 20 minutes...

007 console generation here

Duke Nukem 64 had a GREAT co-op multi...my favorite n64 game.

...because it's the most overrated game. You are proving his point.

I was disappointed by Halo 2 but like the first one, though the first one was something new and exciting but the 2nd one was just old news, nothing much new to it.

I agree completely. The multiplayer in Halo is overrated, IMO. I prefer faster paced games like UT. But Halo scored big points with me for the co-op campaign (Xbox version anyway). I spent hours upon hours playing co-op with my brother and other friends. Good campaign co-op is sadly missing from many games. Halo 2's co-op was OK, but seemed to be missing something.

Halo was a lot of fun co-op on Legendary. It made the game for me. Multiplayer was fairly fun (but not spectacular) fun, especially when doing Warthog tricks. There were some really cool moments in the campaign, but also some kinda lame ones (the Library with Guilty Spark got incredibly tedious and annoying). Overall though, I found it to be a lot of fun though.

Halo 2 was alright, but they blew so much potential. After the first trailer when it looked like Earth was under attack and then come to find out its just one city. The Arbiter levels kinda sucked in my opinion, and then out of nowhere they pull that giant plant thing and its just kinda like WTF is going on anymore. It was ok, and had some brilliant parts, but as a whole is fairly forgettable. I did like some of the imagery, but I think they would've been better off not spending so much time overhauling the graphics (which at times looked gorgeous and other times could look horrendous) and focus more on the story/gameplay.

I loved Halo in co-op. I thought the story went downhill in Halo 2, but the customizablity of the multiplayer made up for it. If you get bored of regular Slayer in Halo 2, try SWAT. It's ridiculously fun. The setup is no shields, and you start with battle rifle, pistol, and 2 frag grenades. No ammo on map and only human vehicles. Kills are mostly headshots so that the game goes really fast.

I generally don't like FPS on consoles, and I prefer FPS with realistic weapons whatnot (although not realistic damage... that would be no fun), so Halo is not my cup of tea.
