I'd really like to go play them right now, but I'm just too beat... maybe tomorrow. You doing a custom game on Thursday again? I haven't made any yet, but I'd like to try this week... although if you could start it a bit earlier, that would be helpful (east coast here, 10pm is tough)

I bought the map pack - do I have to do anything other than download them to be able to use them? I played for a while tonight, and they didn't come up at all. Probably because someone in my party didn't have the new maps. Do they try to match you with people who also have the new maps? Because with 8 people, if only 50% of the players have the maps then it's pretty darned likely that you'll end up with someone in your party who doesn't have the map pack if they just do it randomly.

The FAQ said that you may have to "initialize" them in your system by starting a custom game with each of the once. Give that a shot. There may be a social playlist also devoted to the new maps.

Ya, I'll post a thread for Thursday night custom games, and we'll try these maps out. I'll tell you one thing, though, when we did custom games at 11, we had a full room of 16 at times. When I switched it to 10pm, nobody ever showed up besides Spidey . We'll take a poll to see when people want to start.

Also, I hopped into a custom local game just to run around the maps, and Standoff is a fine addition to the map list. The layout and lighting is beautiful. Rat's Nest will be interesting, but I'll hold off judgment until I've actually played a couple of matches in it. The Foundry has tons of potential, obviously.

I was too exhausted last night to play, but I did get a pair of games in this morning before work. My first was "Team BR" which is normal Team Slayer but with BR as a starting weapon along with the AR. I liked it. We were on guardian and I was able to pick off the dude who rushed sniper without a problem so he couldnt get a foothold.

Next was Team Slayer on Last Resort which I never played before but I liked a lot as well... problem was, about 1/2 way though the match, I got the connecting scoreboard screen.... then a minute later, I got it again and it told me GAME OVER... I was like WTF? and now, I've got a DNF under my belt while no one else in the game did.

Also, the stats are wrong, I had 12 kills instead of 8. Luckily, I did not get negative exp (yet). It really wasnt my fault. I've never quit a game in the middle of a battle, and never will. I hope this isn't a side effect of the update.

Side question - is there any way to react/counter-attack when you're driving a vehicle (i.e. the ghost) and someone hops on for a ride? I was playing on Isolation last night, and a guy caught me when I got my ghost stuck on some rocks. He meleed me off, but I guess I hit RB and B at the exact right time or something, because as soon as he meleed me off, I was back on, he was dead, and my shields were drained. I watched it in slow motion and I can definitely see myself getting kicked off, then latching on, then knocking him off. I don't know if that's a typical maneuver or if I just got really lucky.
