MS would not forsake another Halo since it is a fat cash cow.

Indeed. It would be beyond stupid for them not to make another halo game. Yet I think theyre smart enough to stretch it out so each release is a big event (like MGS4), and not vomit a new title out every few months (splinter cell). It will be sooner rather than later though - my guess is 2-3 years. Theyre not going to sit on a franchise like that while theyre still in the red.

Bungie said that's the last Halo 😛 Do I wish it were the last Halo? Nope, but that's the "official" stance right now.

Another Halo game is all but guaranteed, however I'm going to guess its going to be a while before we see it (as in longer than between these three games). Bungie themselves said they had not planned on doing Halo 2 as soon as they did, and that they have other projects they'd like to work on as well (but really have not been able to since they've been so focused on Halo). This gives them a way to conclude the franchise for the time being (which really is a good thing in my opinion), and leave it open to be picked up later.
The multiplayer certainly is going to have a long lifetime (I'd say more than Halo 2s even), so they don't need to worry there. Also, they can always do an expansion pack and add other things to tweak the game to keep it reasonably fresh. I would not expect another real Halo on the 360 though. I'm not even sure that I'd expect one for the launch of MS's next system since that will likely happen sometime in the next 3-5 years.

I don't get the ending really. I mean, I know he died or something but the way they ended sucked if you ask me. They don't show anything happening just the 117 scratched into the memorial. A buddy of mine says that supposedly the part of the ship master chief was in breaks off and crashes to earth and kills him?😕
How did he fall from space and that not kill him but crashing in a ship does? Am I missing something?

Ok SPOILER WARNING IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED AFTER THE CREDITS
Master chief is floating in a ship in space. Cortana explains that the explosion caused the portal to close when the ship was half through it. The Arbiter was on the side that made it through, so that's why he made it back to earth. Master Chief makes his way back to the cryogenic tube thing he came out of at the beginning of Halo 1. Cortana says it could be years before they are found. Master Chief's last line before sealing himself in the tube is "Wake me, when you need me."

Thats the normal ending, although I guess you get something different if you beat it on Legendary.
