This month was a real nail-biter. Two phenomenal first-person games embodied everything we love about gaming: innovation, multiplayer, storytelling, online play, technology, and most of all, good old-fashioned solid gameplay. Still, one game presented the best out-of-the box experience, pushing the envelope both online and off.

I'm not surprised Halo 2 made game of the month. I found it more fun than HL2.

In terms of single player, Half Life 2 destroys Halo 2. However, in terms of multiplayer, Halo 2 currently destroys Half Life 2. Replayablity definatley goes with Halo 2... (for the time being of course) ;)

The same can be said about HL2 versus HL.

As for me:

Halo 2 = Half-Life 2 - I don't want to live without either of them :D.

Halo 2 plays like alot of PC shooters... it isn't like it is REVELUTIONARY this time, it is only EVELUTIONARY

And this is why it got the nod... Multiplayer.

I have yet to find anyone satisfied with Halo 2's ending...

And Hl2 Deathmatch is already an example of how robust its possibilities are.

Give me a break. Halo 2 wasn't a new engine, and it was by no means "revolutionary" as someone else stated. Half-Life 2 took its predecessor and not only pwned it, but also was higher than most expectations.

I'm sorry, but I've already dealt with so many Halo 2 fanbois that I won't even give it a second chance.

Man... HL2 destroys the competition. Halo 2 is awesome, but not holy. HL2's moddability, its versatility, and its engine are just a few reasons why it's a better game. The single player is also much better.
