duh..when was a high profile game NOT leaked?

this is ture every big games is leaked, doom 3 was available before it was released, HL2 has had its ussues all the Unreal games have been leaked,

Operating systems get leaked

EVERYTHING GETS LEAKED

This is different. I went gold on Tuesday. The game is only able to be accessed by a small group of people. If they think it was someone inside the company that leaked, it will be able to be traced and MS will fire and probably sue the individual responsible. Most game only get leaked after they have been shipped to stores (like a few days before they come out).

I'm playing the french Halo 2 now from my modded xbox's hard drive.

The French version isn't as good. As soon as you hit the second level they surrender, followed by an anti-climatic speech about cheese and oil. The deluxe version with the cabernet disc holder was tasty, though.

My "friend" said it was awesome when he could duel wield guns and blast with both of them simultaneously.

I cant wait for my preordered copy to arrive.

Oh well =\ everything will probalby work out 🙂 --

I hate people that say this. Nothing works out in the end- you're gonna die, people in the future will have no idea what halo 2 is and ultimately the sun will go supernova and kill all your descendants.

Trust me, it never works out in the end. 🙂

it's suprnova, and I like that quote:

Nothing works out in the end- you're gonna die

OH DAMN

'bout level 3 or 4, you start playing the single player campaign as the now tortured covenant general. take on the role of 'abiter' and you are going after anti-covenant covenant. and the flood return in this level.

too bad I still don't understand french

and there is a setting for subtitles, but it doesnt do anything when enabled 🙁

oh well, I plan on beating the game without understanding a word of it.. then going back and really enjoying it in english when I get my pre-ordered collectors edition from EB

"Without illegally modifying your Xbox console there would be no way to make this leaked code play due to the consoles in-built security.

Ummm..what? If I buy an Xbox, I can do whatever the fvck I want to it. What is this "illegal modification"? I don't remember signing a end-user contract that makes it "illegal" for me to take apart and take a crap in my Xbox if I want to...

I think you agree to a contract when you signup for Xbox Live and that's the one they are talking about 🙂

Um, no. You illegally modify your XBox when you flash your BIOS to anything but the original Cromwell.

Well, I can understand that. You are signing up if you use Xbox live, otherwise, if you don't play online, WhoTF are they to tell me doing something to what I own is illegal?

How is that "illegal". What is this law that says I can't do what I want to this piece of hardware I own?

We're not talking hardware - we're talking software. The chip itself is not illegal. However, the BIOS you put on there is. It's a hacked MS BIOS. There's a reason why you cannot download BIOS for chips off a website. Do a simple Google search. Look at the disclaimers on most mod chip sites. Not even for the XBox, for any system.

I still don't understand. If I was playing online and had to agree to a TOS contract for Xbox Live, fine, but if I wanted to make my own bios and put it on there, why would that be illegal? What statute would I be "prosecuted" under?

You can use your own bios as long as it doesn't contain any proprietary MS code. An example would be the Cromwell open source linux bios. But, if you use any of the bioses that allow you to play backup games and so forth, you are using stolen MS code that has been altered. This would be theft of intellectual property.
