have had the LE pre-ordered at Gamestop for several months...can't wait, and Nov. 9th is so conveniently close to my bday

whats so special about the LE

the case is metal, and will include a bonus dvd of the making of halo2 and whatever. Dont really care about the bonus dvd, but the metal case is 1337

How much more is it?

Most places have it at $54.99

I had my friend who works at Gamestop get me the LE edition. So I get $5 off instead of $10. ;)

employee discount of 20% so:
if Halo 2 standard = $40
if purchasing Halo 2 LE = ~$45

So speaking from a perspective of the LE buyer... I'm saving $5 instead of $10 by getting LE.

Please tell me you're joking..
i doubt it. I was considering it also.
Same here... But I already have that Tues/Wed off normally. :)

My only problem is that I'm not sure if I should pre-order it... I stopped by GameStop last week to pre-order it, and they said that they wouldn't be able to guarantee the LE on release day. I'd hate to put my $55 somewhere and not be able to get it on release day.

prolly too late to preorder LE at this point, I thought I read somewhere that stores were going to stop taking LE preorders a couple of weeks ago

However, the automated call I got from Gamestop few months ago (when the LE was first announced) went something like "If you have Halo 2 preordered, you do not need to do anything else. When you come to pick up Halo 2 on release day, you will have the option of buying the regular edition or the LE"

...the LE buyer will buy it for $55, but youll get it for $45, so arent you saving $10? Or do you mean that you're saving $5 by getting the LE from the perspective of a regular edition buyer?

You can still preorder LE at Target... I picked one up two days ago, and they give you a $5 off coupon.

Heh... the latter. Forget what version. Overall for Halo2, lowest price I would've had to pay without the discount was $50. I could have saved $10 max for regular... but down to $5 savings with the LE.

Not even that important.

Yeah, but are you guaranteed to get a copy on release day? Even if they say so, I don't have a whole lot of faith.

I know i preordered it....i'll have my copy at midnight. Hopefully sooner.

Also, once it hits, there'll be the inevitable question....
Who's gonna be forming clans?

i have mine preordered at target, and conveniently have no school that day, so its devoted 100% to getting that POS live to run on my damn router, and then kicking some e-ass all day long
