Definitely underrated. One of the best singer-songwriter duos of all time.
Baby hair with a woman's eyes I can feel you watching in the night All alone with me and we're waiting for the sunlight When I feel cold you warm me And when I feel I can't go on, you come and hold me It's you and me forever

if I had to pick one I'd say over, but I'm just not that big a fan of more than 3 or 4 certain songs.

And on pretty much every "best duos of all time" list, so I don't know how they're underrated, especially compared to peers such as Wham!

Saw them live in Ohio a few years back. Daryl was just recovering from lyme's disease if i remember correctly. Helluva private show, just for Cincinnati Insurance employees and their spouses.

Is John Oates just a lucky dude? It hardly seemed as though it was a balanced act - more like "Daryl Hall.. and also appearing, John Oates."

I don't think so.

Childhood friends...Their harmonies are tight and the songwriting catalog is pretty damn good.

I might agree with you if it was only one or two hits but with their body of work... hard to lay all that success at just one guy's feet.

I had one of their greatest hits CD and in the inlay it had descriptions of how each song was created. Hall's girlfriend seemed to give them the hits such as Sara Smile which was their first to 10 hit. Rich girl was going to be call Rich Boy until Sara Allen said you can't say that so he changed it to rich girl. Turnaround was written for about Sara and her life as a stewardess. When Sara left so did the hits.

Kiss on my list is my favorite tune from them.
