WOW. This game is beautiful. The graphics arn't even the half of it. The world is jsut so damn realistic compared to older games, or even the released videos....it is just BEAUTIFUL@ 1600x1200.


Notes:

1)My system was pagging like a little whiney bitch, so you will need more than 512MB to cut it( I ordered another 512MB stick from newegg 2 weeks ago and it still isn;t here) This leads to long load times and stuttering as you walk into new areas. Once they load though, it is worth it.

2) to my surprise, once hte textures loaded, my PC was able to handle it quite well

AT 9800pro

For some odd reason it ran BEAUTIFULLY AND STUTTER FREE @, get this:

1600x1200
all detail settings to max
4xAA , 2xAF



Truely, speaking after playing the game only for a bit, I have no doubt now that it was worth the wait.

BTW, most everyone at the store thougth thye could go home, pop in the game, and start playing. No one would believe me about the activation.

lol.....I bet there will be a lot of returns in the morning....
 
As with the Halo 2 launch, I am still very confused at why people will go to a store at midnight just go buy a game, rather than wait until the next day.

um... because if it wasn't for Half Life, Halo 2 wouldn't exist.... plus Half-Life is considered the best PC game ever made.

You have to wait in line in the cold, at midnight. Most people have work in the morning so playing it all night really isn't that practical, and being 1 day late on the latest game really isn't that big of a loss.
 
I really should have gone the steam route. I don't get it until my local gamestop opens @ 10 am tomorrow 🙁 :|

I had the next day off... It wasn't very cold at all... I was hanging out with a friend.
