half of the internet is gone...

every once in a while my internet connection stops working halfway. there are a bunch of sites that won't load (e.g. google.com, av.com - this site always works), and I won't be able to sign onto msn. is there any reason why this would happen?

hey, this happens at my house too. yahoo, google, hotmail won't come up. everything else seems ok. rebooting usually fixes it. what kinda router do you have? i'm using a linksys wrt54g

you're not the only one. yahoo, google msn, all down at random times. sometimes the occasional yeah.com when i enter yahoo.com, GO FIGURE. world is coming to an end!

On a more serious note, Ive got the same problem as well...using Win XP on a D-link DI-604 wired router. Anyone with a technical explanation?

At work no addresses would resolve so I called up Comcast to verify that the problem was on their end and the tech said that something was going on with the backbone.
