does this chip not require any cooling at all, can we just stick it in the socket and go?

I would doubut it. Anyway, I'd at least want a heatsink on it anyway. Maybe a 1U one.

Has 2250Mhz Duron, 512MB ram, CD burner, GF4MX graphics, 80GB samsung 7200rpm HDD etc..

Hey if you want to benchmark them LMK.. we'll do it complete with pics and everything...

ROFLMAO. Your OC'ed Duron will get stomped by the 2.8 P4. Nice try though.

I built a 2.65ghz Tbred rig for under $300 once.

$40 cpu (1700+ dlt3c)
$20 heatsink (sk7)
Free fan
$30 mobo (a7n8x)
$35 512megs ram (Kvr3200)
Free case
$25 PSU (Fortron 350)
Free cdrom
$90 video (9500 @ 9700)
$50 hard disk (wd800JB)

I'd put it toe to toe with a 2.8ghz dell without flinching.

i like my sokcet 462, with the oced sempron2400 at 2Ghz and its still at 38°C, the cpu/mobo combo was only $75, fry's has the absolute best prices on cpu/mobo combos, my friend got an athlon 64 3000+ with an abit nf8-v for $199.99, if anyone can find a better deal than that give me the link so i can buy it.

Lets see, I am on my THIRD motherboard at work for my Dell xxx 2.6 P4 (I don't know the model number) Our tech says that 40 a week in our building alone die from the same problem "a thermal event has occured" bad cap on the motherboard....(we have 70 people/floor on 16 floors, you do the match)

No Dells for me ! And it is probably a 2.8 Celeron....
