Half-Life Stutters! on a 1.2GHZ with latest drivers

Hey all

My half-life stutters even with latest drivers(4 in 1) and Geforce Ultra(6.50). And I don't have AA on. Oh and 32 bit colour is diabled. Strange because it happens on even the lowest of settings. In both openGL and DX8.

Ok sounds like it's a pretty new computer, what OS are you running. I've noticed alot that stuttering in games on fast machines can be a result of DMA not being enabled on your hard drive. So make sure DMA is enabled first off, I don't see how a 1.2GHZ machine with a GF2 Ultra could ever stutter in Half-Life, so if it's not DMA I'd have to say you should play around with some different drivers.

It's the nvidia driver. Use the 7.52 beta drivers. It should work better after that.

Well its an alienware so its fully tweaked out. This thing runs Q3 Team Area with no sweat with everything on. Out of all the games I play only half-life is a problem. Strange huh. Then I though it was just me so I got 3 other opions and it does stutter. Also I realy only like to use official drivers.

Also this Happens in Multiplayer and single.

well I think i am going to reinstall half-life...what a strage problem. Thanks for sugestions, any one else have an idea?
