What is the difference between Half-Life: Initial Encounter, Half-Life: Full Product, and Half-Life: Game of the Year Edition? I found the Initial Encounter version to be the cheapest, but does anyone know if multiplayer mods, such as TFC, and CS can be played?

HL:IE is like a demo with enough of the game to get hooked on. HL:FV is just that, the whole game. GOTY edition packages HL plus TFC on one CD. If you have the FV, you can DL the TFC portion FREE. They've updated to TFC 1.5 with a lot of net code patches.

I have the original, bought on the first day back in Nov.'98, version of HL and I've been able to play all the mods I've tried (not many). Get that IF you have a fat pr0n pipe to DL the mods. They're 30-55MB each, I think. If you can DL CS, then you can handle the rest.

Okay, I see. Thanks DirkBelig. I also encountered a full-version 1U and full-version. They differ by about 5 bucks, with the later being more expensive. Anyone know the difference?

"I also encountered a full-version 1U and full-version. "

I have no idea what you mean by "1U". Sorry.
