My problem is that during the game the control's response is really slow. For example if I want to move my guy forward I push the forward key and it takes about two seconds or more for him to actually move forward. If I hit the jump key it takes a few seconds for him to actually jump. I used to play the game all the time on this same 'puter and don't remember ever having a problem. I installled it on my daughters 'puter too and she has the same problem. Anyone know what's going on here?? Thanks.
 
Yes that is exactly what it acts like, only problem is I'm not playing online!! it happens in the regular single player game.
 
well... then try getting all the patches and updates.. over 100megs+ though..

I don't think you mention anywhere what your hardware configuration is. Of course, you could get a scenario like that trying to play HL on a 100mhz machine, or one with a very poor video card, or a video card not configured properly.

What do you have, and what have you tried so far?
