OK, I just bought Half-Life: Game of the Year Edition off of the FS/T forums and it runs well the hardware and everything is compatible and it's completely updated. Now, I'm running the PC in my signature and I'm having trouble playing over the Internet. Mainly my problem is that when I go to list servers there aren't any for TFC and the HL ones don't have any info. I get plenty of CS servers but I don't have CS installed... Anyways, do you all know anything that would help? Thanks.
 
For starters, what are you using to view your servers? Are you going in through the hl icon? If so then when you are looking at your servers you click Filter, then from a drop down list select half-life and check the box. click ok, then update the server list.

This is a free program I use to view servers. Looks alot like windows explorer for online games.

Yes, check your filter.
Checking HL will only display the HL servers, you can further specify a particular map.
 
While you're at it. Give some time to try this mod out. It's hl but you'll find all the hard core players playing it. it's notmy mod, i'm not pimping it. If you like Quake arena, this is HL Arena with team and death match votedable options. Plus you can still bunny hop. 😀
 
Anyone play this mod? It's pretty intense, its everything you liked from AVP2 but better. It will take you a day or two to get the hang of it, but it get's addicting.

Yeah, I've tried using the filters but still no success. Seeing as I only have 3GB to myself... the other HDD is for the family, I don't really want to put more mods on. So, that program is good for viewing servers you say? I'll check it out. Thanks and if any more of you have some ideas they are greatly appreciated.
 
When you do an update, sometimes it does not get all the server info.
Try 'refreshing' after an update, and if a specific server you may be interested in (usually a known ip) still shows with no info, then click on it, and choose 'view server'. That will show you who is in, what map is playing, and the server details in the bottom window, but it will also update the server info on the "browse" page. Pain in the butt, but it works.
 
Thanks for all the help but after trying everything but that program nothing worked. So, now I'm using The All Seeing Eye... but what am I to do after the trial period expires? 😉
