Just the high system specs for Lost Coast (as it's basically just a 15min tech demo...), as they say, basically back to normal hl2 spec requirements for DOD:Source
 
All in all, you're looking at about a 15-minute experience

Dang that's it?? I was expecting at least 40 minutes or so. Oh well it's free.

To be able to experience the Best Quality setting, you will need a graphics processor that is capable of 16-bit Floating Point filtered textures, 16-bit Floating Point targets with alpha bend support, and Shader Model 3.0. The lower quality mode will require 16-bit Fixed Point filtered textures and Shader Model 2.0 support.

This means that the preferred cards to run HDR are as follows:

Low Quality HDR:

Very nice, where did you find this? I also wonder what low quality means and if I will now have to upgrade?
 
Low quality means emulates HDR with pixel shaders (I think). High quality means it uses the FP16 OpenEXR HDR (right now only available on NVIDIA 6 and 7 series).
 
That farcry video was very nice. Not totally sure if I like hdr on the inside stuff (would have to see more), but going from inside to outside and the nightime shots are real good.
 
Awesome, can't wait to download Lost Coast (and DOD:Source, even though I never played the original DOD...it's included with my Silver package and it'll have HDR 😛)
 
The question is will HDR be supported in Cedega 4.4 on Linux with my Geforce 6800 with the unlocked pipes and shader?!

Definitely low quality HDR, and almost certainly high quality HDR. If HQ HDR isn't supported now, it should be supported real soon. The LQ HDR is inherently supported if I'm right it uses the pixel shaders.

You mean FP16

Otherwise we would be playing it at 0.1 FPS even with SLIed 7800GTXs...
 
Wee, this should mean that my GF 6600GT will be able to display the HDR as it should look. I'm not gonna get very good framerates, but it's just a tech demo anyway. I'll get to see the goodies. 🙂

Don't be too sure about that, valve has done a very good job of making the game accessable to most systems.
 
I noticed zero difference moving from my 9800Pro to my 6800 Ultra OC in Half Life; i had the goodies maxxed on both cards and there was just no discernible diff. I think Valve will pull this off with good performance

Tho they did say this tech demo was a no matter what it takes demo.

At the end tho they did say HDR has a reduction of about 30% in performance. But then again we have to think about everything else they have done like textures, models and stuff like that.

Initial systems: However, all is not lost, if you excuse the pun. The system used to demonstrate the game to us today was an Athlon 64 3800+ with 2GB of RAM and a GeForce 6800GT - high end for many people, but not stratospheric. If you needed further proof, the 1024x768 2xAA screenshots featured in this article were taken on a 1.6Ghz Centrino notebook with only 1GB of RAM and an aging 128MB FireGL graphics card. True, it ran at 10FPS at High Detail, but it was playable enough to appreciate the overall achievement.
