I noticed zero difference moving from my 9800Pro to my 6800 Ultra OC in Half Life; i had the goodies maxxed on both cards and there was just no discernible diff. I think Valve will pull this off with good performance

😕

Were you not running at a high resolution?

LOL... yeah... 640x480 with 16 bit color and Pixel Shader 1.1 forced.

Does anyone have a copy of bit-tech's cathedral action timedemo? I'd like to see how my rig compared to their test results. I was playing at 1280x960, fullHDR, noAA, 4xAF and saw no slowdown or stuttering in both of my gameplays.

HDR has to be seen to be believed - wow. For how gorgeous it is, doesn't look like HDR forces that big a hit on performance. Certainly not like soft shadows which kill video cards for marginal gains.

I took this shot while playing Lost Coast and ended up making it my current wallpaper  Pretty much all of the demo was impressive especially the cathedral , I played it at 1600x1024 (16:10 mode) w/ everything enabled & 4X AF and it ran nice.

dual SLI testing lost coast. im too lazy to take one card out to see how much difference does it make

edit:

lookee lookee
why does it look so different? it doesn't look better... but it's different? 😕
