Half-Life error: NET_SendPacket ERROR: NO ERROR --can you help me?

This is SO frustrating. I can't find an answer to this, though it appears a lot of people have this or related problems--no one has bothered posting a solution or fix.

I play Day of Defeat, an online Half-Life mod, and have played for months with zero problems. I installed a new Visiontek GeForce2 GTS-V 32ddr agp video card last week and now I'm getting the following problem:

I search for servers per the usual. I select a server per usual. I begin to establish a connection with the server per usual. Just before I would normally get the opening map screen, I get the following error:

NET_SendPacket ERROR: NO ERROR

Then I am kicked to my desktop and I'm in 600x480 mode. I have to hard boot then.

The thing is, this only happens about 50% of the time. It also occurs during map changes.

I have not changed a single thing except to install a new video card, so obviously this is the cause. I have tried various version of the Detonator drivers for my video card. I still have the problem

I do not operate behind a firewall nor do I have any kind of proxy.

I see that others have had this problem in CounterStrike and TFC, so it's not just limited to Day of Defeat.

All my patches and drivers are the latest possible.

CAN ANYBODY HELP ME WITH A SOLUTION OR A FIX?! I AM GOING NUCKING FUTS!!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for ANY help on this or even what this error is.

What did you upgrade from? Did you uninstall the old drivers before you upgraded? If yes, try changing to direct draw and play a game(it will run slower) and then go back to the openGL. See if that works 🙂
