Half Life CounterStrike or Quake 3 Arena?

I was at best buy like 30min ago and saw that CS is on sale for $19.99 and Q3A is $29.99
Anyways, i've had my eyes on these prices as of late. Which one is a better game overall. Mainly for playing quick games to kill some time and multiplayer. but having a 1 player mode would be nice if i get bored. I already have NOLF and UT so those are out of the question. Thanks.
 
its really all a matter of preference. some people love cs/q3, others hate it. play them both at a friends house or sumthin and see what you think. As for the single player, cs condition zero is coming out which will be single player for counter-strike. and if you cant wait for it, you can always download some bots.
 
The majority vote goes out for Counterstrike, with quite a margin. Note that the majority isn't necessarily playing the best games.
 
I have both, and would take CS anyday; however, I wouldn't necessarily play it for multiplayer. It's really only fun to play with people, IMO.

I would have to say not CS. Now don't get me wrong. I love CS but after the lastest upgrade i haven't been able to get it to work. It keeps telling me to update my HL.exe but I got the CS retail. Q3 is better too because it has a fun singleplayer. For a really good single player get Rouge Spear.
