So, they've been putting out one game a year, but the gaps between games is larger. Do any good hallucinogens lately?

Well, that is in a technical sense. Expansions for HL1, re-releasing in Source, mods becoming Valve games, etc. But if you just go HL1 -> HL2 -> EP1 -> EP2, thats where the appears to be big gaps between games.

It has become another DNF for me, and even when it's released I'll just wait until it's dirt cheap in a steam sale. I won't be buying it at release like I have the previous versions. They made us wait this long, I can wait another 6-12 months after original release date for a sale.

I'm 100% pre-ordering if it comes out. Maybe they'll try to drag it out for 5-6 years like starcraft II.

When the first half life came out, I was gaming in high school. I'm almost 30 now and have children. They missed the boat to finish the story with me. Maybe my kid will play the next half life, who knows.

Oops, I meant "big gaps between games". But they were a major release from Valve all the same.
