Are the XT (9600, 9800) cards still coming with these? I'm planning on buying the Ultimate 9600 XT...
 
Well, I don't have enough money to get anything more, and I value the passive cooling system as well.
 
Like I said, I'm interested in the passive cooling, and if it does indeed come with a Half-Life 2 voucher then the value of the card would rise for me. I'm planning on getting a new card for myself in a few months, and giving the 9600XT to my brother, who doesn't play fast paced games (read: FPSs). However, it's only worth it with the voucher.
 
I've seen an ATI 9600XT recently that says it comes with the voucher, but what you should do is call the store you're buying from to find out for sure. Not all 9600XT's come with it.

OP: Your best bet is a used 9700PRO from the FS/FT forums.

i was only trying to prove that passive 9600/9800XT's existed. i wasnt trying to shop around for the best price...
 
Well all kidding aside go w/ the one he has there from newegg reviews say it comes w/ activation code in the box, I'd call just to be sure. I guess you could view it as $110 for the card and $50 for HL2.
 
Ok, but then I get a (insert marginally better card here) for $100 used, and then buy HL2 for $50. And now where am I?

I bought an ASUS 9600XT TVD for $184. :0

It came with the voucher good for HL2 and Valves entire back catalogue,d VIVO and warrantied overclocking (upto 530/650). Plus a butt load of software.

It met my needs fairly well.


And it spanks the 5900XT in 3D05 -- now if only I could figure out how to play that game 🙂

I got an All-In-Wonder 9600 Pro and overclocked it to 500/700 speed for just a little bit more than that. Comes with HL2 voucher and of course all the standard AIW fair such as VIVO and TV tunoer, and also came with both the old and new remote wonder (I should probably sell at least one of them).

Hehe, I'd say you got just a tad bit owned.
