Half Life 2 runs well on a Kyro 2 ;)

Heh, I wonder if the people that got Doom 3 running on Voodoo 2/3/5 cards got Half-Life 2 running on them too. 😉

doesn't look to bad at all, definitely not as bad as those Doom3 pics running on the Voodoo2 SLI. But the Kryo2 has much more powerful features.

"well" is a relative term- it probably runs "well" on a V5 too- but that's not what any sane person would play it with

As far as I know it doesn't support Hardware T&L, SpiderMan: The movie didn't run on mine because of this, so I guess that means it's a DX6 card, right?

The only DX7 feature that the Kyro 2 doesn't support is T&L, everything else it has. Granted, T&L was a major feature, but DX7 had some primitive shaders and such, it was part of the launch hubbub around the Geforce 2 GigaTexel Shader.

Although it is true that the Kyro 2 doesn't have hardware t&l later drivers introduced a feature called Enhanced T&L which worked well especially if you had a powerful cpu. 🙂

All this talk of the Kyro2 makes me want to take out my OCUK 9700 Pro and put in my Hercules 4500 Kyro 2, I noticed that new drivers have recently been released by PowerVR to fix problems with some new games and I think my 2.4ghz Athlon XP Mobile will help it's performance abit. 😉

Ooo, i might try my Kyro 2 for fun. I have it in a box somewhere 😛

I believe there was a Kyro 2 Ultra released with limited support for T&L but it was poorly implemented or something like that.

The Kyro2 Ultra was the Kyro2 SE, it didn't have hardware t&l but it had the enhanced t&l (software t&l) which is now available for all types of Kyro.
