Half-Life 2 Problem

All my other steam games work, HL2😀M, HL2: Episode One, CS:S, but Half-Life2 and HL2: Lost Coast do not work. Every time I try and start them I get black screen with the loading cursor and it freezes.

GTX 260 With latest drivers
Windows Vista x64

Try to run Steam in 32bit compatibility and see if that works.

I deleted it, re downloaded it, then tried 32bit and nothing worked.

Wierd, it stopped responding again so i set priority to realtime, and my computer was completely frozen for like two minutes, then it unfroze and HL2 was up and running. Stupid steam...lol

never set priority to realtime, that's why your computer froze, because the application was getting more resources then your OS

did the same thing on my PC, set it to 32bit and it worked fine. 😕 dunno y it didn't work on ours OP
