I cant find any Half-Life 2 mods. There are a ton of ones not finished etc, but nothing "officially" done.

Enlighten me.

Total conversion mods take time to make. It hasn't even been a year yet. Patience.

BTW, there are some more basic mods that are "complete". (HL2CTF, Garry's Mod, Eclipse, Substance, Plan of Attack, etc.) Keep in mind that mods have a different development cycle than retail games. They are released earlier and are never really done. It's incorrect to ask for a complete mod, in the traditional sense.

The HL2 Mod scene is nothing like previous generatios. Same for Doom3. The only game that saw a good mod scene recently was UT2K4. I think BF2 may end up with a surprising number of decent mods, but that has yet to occur.

Most "mods" are just one or two kids who got their hands on some modeling software and are cranking out 1337 guns and, if they're REALLY committed to their "mod", a few skins to go with them.

I would hazzard a guess that 90% of the "mods" out there don't even have coders. At best, they have one or two modellers, one of whom doubles as the mod's webmaster, and MAYBE a mapper. That's best-case scenario though.
