Half Life 2 Lost Coast HDR Performance: Crossfire vs SLI

Does ATI need a new driver?

http://www.amdzone.com/modules.php?op=m...index&req=viewarticle&artid=195&page=1

Valve released the extra Half Life 2 level Lost Coast yesterday evening, and with an 32X SLI setup, and Crossfire setup already humming we decided that some benchmarks revealing HDR on and off performance were in order. It was a bloodbath with our initial results. High Dynamic Range Lighting is a spectacle, and certainly Valve has implemented a much more advanced version that you will find in Far Cry.

well considering the rather pisspoor review given to the DFI Crossfire vs the Asus 32 SLI that AMDZone posted one has to wonder.. NOT once in any area did you mention that the DFI is the ONLY mobo able to run double sided fully occupied Ram at 1T !! yet you gave the DFI a 95 and the Asus a 99... yeah makes me wonder where AMDZone is sitting next to..

We are still actively testing both boards. Checking your post count I have to wonder who you are, and how you think you are qualified to post.

You really should have posted this in the Video forum. Interesting results, although I think most people would be much more interested in seeing X1800 Crossfire compared to SLI. I know that it's not your fault since the cards aren't available yet.

well i am not going to get into a P!ssing match over post count (like that has to do with anything...) however being an AMDZone member from way back when your brother and to some extent you both started the Zone I think it's safe enough to say your review is far short of a "review" rather than just a "preview" .. a review usually consists of actual tests (rather than links to tests run on a different motherboard using a different chipset) where as your preview simply shows pictures of the board, packaging and BIOS options (much of which is already available from various sources around the Web).

BTW, name is AMD_G@y and only reason I didn't post on Zone is I recently installed Opera 9 Beta and forgot my PW ..
