More like typical, shallow, improbably-dressed game whore.

So, works in 32-bit?

I played for about 20 minutes last night without any problems. Oddly during the install the game claimed I didn't meet the 3GB RAM requirement. (I have 4GB installed, Windows sees 3.5GB.) Wasn't an issue though.

That's what you should expect Windows to see in a 32-bit install. 4GB is the total addressable memory space for 32-bits, but the computer does not allow all addresses to be used for memory. Specific addresses and ranges are reserved for stuff like video memory.

Yowza! The thing is that Alyx was hawt precisely because she was a lithe tomboy, but not a total bimbo. (I hated Jessica Cannon in SiN: Episode (note the lack of pluralization - heh) because of her stupid thong strap. So cliche.) As much as I like teh tig ol' bitties, I'd rather have Alyx look like Alyx and Lara Croft look like herself. Of course, I'll be downloading this the moment I get home. I'm just saying.

cool. as crazy as it sounds I've still never played the game. Would this be a good idea to use when I finally do or should I play it the way it came first? Guess I have to upgrade my ram though I only have 2 GB.

I'm new to the fakefactory mod. Can I just run v7.0 or will I need any kind of patch too? Also are there any other mods I should check out too or is this the only one needed. Thx.

OK, I DLed and installed this beast and so far it's running smoothly on a 3800 X2/2GB/8800GT 512MB/WinXP SP2 32-bit system at 1920x1200 with everything full on. The BIG problem I have is that you have to launch the games from their own shortcuts that mean all old saves and commentaries are unavailable; you have to start from scratch, including rebinding all your keys. If you have a favorite section you want to replay, it looks like you're SOL. I started with E2 and it's too soon to tell how the later driving levels will run, but up until you get into the caves, it's just as good as the un-modded version.

I'm not sure if I like this Adrianna Lima-looking Alyx. I know there's a hybrid version with the classic head on the new bimbo bod, but I dunno. Here are some shots (resized to keep the host from choking on the 2MB original file size):

* Calling Daddy

*
Alyx gets a boo-boo

* ZOMG! Shock wave! I don't like her teeth and she makes this face a lot.

Is there any way to load specific levels, old saves or activate commentary mode? LMK cuz I don't have time to re-run the whole games again.

I wouldn't waste my time saving the world with such a female body around. But seriously though... it's a little exaggerated, I've read the comments on the Filefront section for this mod and there's users asking for a topless model, how sick is that exactly? And as for the rest, at least from the pictures above, I don't see much difference in the environment textures for the intro section (the picture where Alyx seems like she's crapping her pants).

its nice...and its a nice change compared to games like crysis to see a game running FAST and fluid again :) HL2 is an old engine, but i am sometimes still amazed how good it can look, also in HL2DM, some maps.

She has a lace bra because ALL WOMEN wear sexy underwear ALL THE TIME and never wear anything that's just practical.

This is the kind of stuff that keeps video games from being taken seriously as an art form - it's sad, because the technical ability on display is obviously very good, but if all you're going to do with it is point out to the world that you're a developmentally stunted horndog lusting after fakely rendered boobs...

The thing that made Alyx (and the rest of the HL2 characters for that matter) enjoyable in the first place was the suspension of disbelief - they characterize as real, believable people, not Battle Whores with armor that shows midriff

You must've missed the "Nude Alyx" model that came out a long time ago.

You can't tell from that picture, but the improvement IS noticeable. Much richer color and detail. I didn't post it, but the new Vortagaunt skins are really detailed.

There are some glitches though: The generator outside the shack in E2 was solid black and the viewscreen when Barney reveals himself in HL2 had flashing yellow areas. I'm using whatever the latest beta driver Nvidia put out to handle Crysis 1.2 is.

Is there any way to copy over saves from the original run-thrus?

Anyone still playing?

Apparently V8 is out, anyone try it out yet?

Just got to playing V7, its amazing. I would say its better looking than crysis, and actually runs well.

I know I know, old thread, but I just got 64-bit.

Can you still use this if you don't have Ep. 2? I only played through half of HL2 before I got bored and stopped playing; I never played Episode One.

LOL Battlewhores. I smell a new franchise...

You should be able to use V7, but V8 requires you to have the episode 2 files.

Text 8.0 final version. The one you linked was the final beta release.

Also, 8.2 patch

I  FFCM, been playing it since ~ V4. Makes me wish Vista wasn't such a whiny little bitch about EDIDs and default resolutions so I could actually play FFCM8 in a 64-bit environment :(

The 9th version of the FFCM is finished and is available on the official (German) FFCM's web-site, but the download (available in parts only as of now) is ridiculously slow, I would recommend waiting for him to upload it to FileFront like he did for all other versions, but if anyone wants to take the time to download right now it's there: http://cinematicmod.de.tc/

EDIT: By the way, the "BASE" edition is for 32-Bit OS'es, the "HD" edition is for 64-Bit OS'es (XP and Vista, of course).

Haha when I go to that site I see a massive noscript block :D

So does the HD actually require 64-bit, or is it still the whole 'expect lots of crashes in 32-bit' thing? I've been drooling over the CM9 screens, but the standard edition looks like crap compared to the HD one.

edit: why the fuck did they pick uploaded.to for their host???

I started the first part, it failed and gave me an .html file, so I tried it again and it says
Your Free-Traffic is exceeded!

You have reached a maximum number of downloads or used up your Free-Traffic! You want to download more?
Get your uploaded Premium-Account now!
Your Premium-Account will be activated immediately after your order. (Or wait 60 minutes!)

so one 2kb error .html file cancels out my ability to dl anything for an hour. Sweet

Thankfully all I have to do is reset my cable modem and reDHCP myself :D

edit 2: ok, so now I'm getting 0kb .rar files. :(

whoa, had no idea V9 was coming out.

IDK if ill try it. I cant find much info on the changes from 7 to 8 to 9, so it may not even be worth the download time.
