Half-Life 2: Episode One $14.99 @ Target

Hope this isn't a repost, I did a search and didn't see anything.

While shopping at Target tonight I noticed they had HL2:EP 1 on sale for $14.99. Seemed like a good price. Although I made the mistake of not checking to see how long that price will last.

They also had a good price on the Band of Brothers DVD set, $49.99.

Dang, and here I thought I was getting a discount by pre-ordering it from steam at $18 instead of $20.

Guess I shoulda waited.

BTW, Band of Brothers is GREAT STUFF!
 
Is this the same thing?

It's also $20 at Best Buy, labeled Episode One. Do you know if this $15 business is the same for all Targets?
 
band of brothers is $49.99 at best buy and circuit city as well. same deal on sopranos and the wire also (maybe?)

It was renamed to just Episode 1, no aftermath (as far as I know). Its in store only pricing though for the $15.
Check the target ad on the website, its in there.

Yep, sure did! Been working though, so I haven't had much time to play it, but I like the HDR and the gameplay feels the same. I'm glad they didn't change much - HL2 is one of those games you do not want to end!
 
Thanx OP...son all into that as a gamer and found this item at sugar land, tx target no prob...$14.99. Didn't see it at CC for the $8 as posted around here though...thanx again..
 
i think he is talking about the ad for next week (tomorrow). it is not in the current ad from last sunday.

wouldnt it make sense to get the ad out a little bit earlier than when the prices go into effect.

No.. the average consumer would be too confused. They'd walk into the store trying to buy something on a Saturday only to be told the deal isn't good until Sunday. It's easier to put it in the Sunday morning newspaper and be done with it.
 
Don't forget how the stores have sued before to get info from the ads thats been posted early, taken down. Anandtech has even taken down some sales information when threatened.

They do NOT like the stuff getting out early.
