Half-Life 2 & Doom 3 $79 shipped free at Amazon

Availability: This item will be released on March 1, 2004. You may order it now and we will ship it to you when it arrives.

Lol.
"One of the most highly anticipated titles of 2003."

If you preorder now, you probably will forget you did by the time the games are released...and you suddenly find a copy mailed to you while you already have a copy on hand...

Heck yeah! I think I'll order them with Duke Nukem Forever, and then check the box indicating that Amazon shouldn't ship until all items are in stock ... 🙂

That beats GoGamer's $60 pre-order

$60 pre-order for HL2 is a rip b/c at that price point, you might as well purchase a Radeon 9600 and get a coupon and a decent vid card for not much more.

$79 + Tax Free
Luke warm if you want to wait for both games ...

Also :
I want my items faster. Ship them as they become available.(at additional cost)

So you gotta pay more and anyone pre ordering both of these is not gonna want to wait months till the other one is done.

Guess this does but I am glad I looked there anyway because CoD is now finally down to $40 and I just ordered it. Free mousepad too, bet its really cheap although they say "space aged" materials.

Just preordered doom3 for $38 shipped. Might as well buy it now with the good price because I know I'd just be paying $50 on release day otherwise. Thanks!

how about just wait until the game is released what a concept

No doubt. I wonder why people pre-order stuff. Unless a) they live in Antartica or b) they get a bunch of free stuff with it.

They preorder so they can go to the comic book/gaming store/local hangout and brag to their friends that they got insert game name here 4.3 hours before anyone else in their hick town. Pay $40 now for a game that doesn't come out for at least 6 months. Sounds like a bad investment to me. Why don't you just send me your $40 and I'll send you a copy of the game when it comes out. Heck I'll throw in one of my old mouse pads or a 386 processors I've got laying around to "Sweeten the deal". LOL!

Ahem...Amazon really does not charge your card until they start the shipping process. Hell, they don't even authorize it.

So you're not spending $40 on a game that will come out for 6 months until it comes out...if you want to poo in a thread, do it in your own time, and stop wasting forum space.

I would say that it's still worthwhile to wait till AFTER it comes out b/c I mean even Warcraft III dropped down to mid 20s pricing about 2 weeks after it came out. I'm sure popular games like HL2 and Doom3 will be good store magnets so those stores can offer that same kind of pricing.
